Situated within Phoenix Park in the Tanglin area, Boufe (the word a portmanteau of "boutique" and "cafe") Boutique Cafe shares a space with Ohvola boutique. The usual brunch fare such as Eggs Benedict, Brioche French Toast and Croque Madame are served, but you should really try Boufe's Big Breakfast or "Triple B" ($21). Creamy scrambled eggs, sauteed mushrooms, bacon, sausages and a freshly baked buttery croissant — not a bad way to start your day at all.They serve fantastic pastries as well, of which the Strawberry Shortcake ($8) and Citron Tart ($5.50) stand out. Given the quality of the food and the killer combination of spaciousness, chic decor and warm ambience, this place will only become more popular with time.
Opened by an ex co-owner of Sarnies, The Hangar is a seriously chill spot with good, honest food. Their menu is focused on sandwiches and salads, with brunch offerings like Smashed Feta and Avocado on Toast ($8), and The Hangover ($20) — a massive plate of eggs, sausages, mushrooms, beans, and toast. Albeit humble-looking, the sarnies here pack a load of flavour, and everything is made from scratch. Look out for their unique sandwiches such as Lotus Croqueroots (lotus root croquettes, $10), and the Lemongrass Steak ($12). Of course, no brunch is complete without coffee. Note that they roast their beans in-house!
Known for their gorgeous HUGE cakes, The Fabulous Baker Boy is simply fabulous. Dig into their sinfully rich, chocolate covered Red Velvet cake with a cup of coffee. Set in The Foothills, it's a nice place to relax with a couple of friends on a lazy afternoon. We suggest that you share a few slices, but hey, sometimes it's alright to be selfish.
Japanese inspired french pastry? Why yes, please! With over 20 years of Japanese baking experience, Chef Yamashita gets his inspiration from flowers. "Flor", pronounced in Japanese as "fu-ro-ru", means "flower". Every cake is almost like an art piece, full of color and vibrant but balanced flavor- perfect for a special occasion. If you're looking for a bite of heaven on-the-go, grab their ice cheese tartlets in any flavor you please, cos they're so.damn.good.

Enter Ah Bong's Italian, helmed by the affable Chef Chris, which caters to that very need by serving a range of fantastic pastas right out of a humble coffeeshop stall in Tiong Bahru Estate — for just six bucks a plate. Choose anything that suits your fancy, from the irresistible Truffle Mac & Cheese (no description needed), to the signature Birthday Pasta — a seriously magical combination of broccoli, cream and bacon. End off with a unique dessert of the day, which sees delightful creations like Orange Earl Grey Crème Brûlée, and wash it all down with a kopi-o from the uncle next door! There are limited portions available each day, so head down early.
Fronted by the original signage of a store built in the mid-70s, a.e.i.o.u.'s concept revolves around going 'back to basics', showcased in their decor, food and atmosphere. Unique up-cycled furniture, mismatched chairs and one-of-a-kind standing lamps give this cafe nothing but character. With a laid-back vibe, this is an interesting place to stop by for an Iced Avocado Coffee (yes, avocado!) in a repurposed vodka bottle. Food-wise, go for the Beef Cheek Pasta and end off with their super zingy Lime Tart. For a vegetarian options that don't fail to satisfy meat-eaters, go for the Mushroom Soup, and the Roasted Pumpkin Salad with quinoa, raisins, chick peas and greens!
If you're itching for a refreshing caffeine fix on a hot day, stopping by Old Hen Coffee for a bottle of their famous cold brew would be a wise choice. Just a 3-minute walk from Farrer Park MRT station, this cafe dishes out light cafe bites, desserts and coffee. For something savoury, the Croque Monsieur comes highly recommended, as is the case for their Breakfast Toast -- a delicious combination of egg mayo, turkey bacon and cornflakes. Popping in for just a cuppa and some sweets? Choose from a selection of cakes and tarts on display. You'd be silly to leave without first getting hold of a bottle (or two!) of their Creamy White Cold Brew. Slightly sweet, creamy, and with little acidity, this is a truly refreshing beverage!

I just love that earthy, mellow, and slightly savoury quality that roasted pistachios have, so that even though the soft serve is airily light, it packs so much robust flavour – definitely my favourite here so far (I've yet to try the highly raved Earl grey lavender). But while the fluffy cubes of Japanese cheesecake were well-done, I can't help being appalled that the cost of this addition works out to 50 cents per tiny cube (each is hardly bigger than a blueberry!).
