Best Mee Siam I ever tasted. Generous serving in a big bowl for $5.90.... A comfort food you would like to keep coming back. FOOD DISCOVERIES: THE ROYALS CAFE - Little Miss Honey
http://littlemisshoney.com/food-discoveries-royals-cafe/

Whether it's dinner for two or ten, my ritual at Artichoke is to start with a selection of their mezzes. They have an interesting repertoire that's a mix of Middle Eastern classics (some with a twist) and a couple that I can't place geographically but taste so darn good who cares! Below are the ones I had on a recent visit...

Cured Swordfish: This came highly recommended by the manager. Dressed with tiny blobs of mayo, crunchy pink peppercorns and lavendar sorrel ($10++), eating each slice of the cured swordfish guaranteed an impromptu Zoukout in my mouth.

Burnt Asparagus: The burnt asparagus with smoked yogurt, brown butter and oven-dried tomatoes was just as sensational. Everything that was picked to sit on that small plate was meant to ride happily into the sunset together.

A regular order of mine, the babaganoush ($8++) has also evolved with not just the addition of yogurt but it's been Asian-ised with pomegranate molasses teriyaki and sesame seeds too. Frankly, I like it even more now.

As delicious as the mezzes are, remember not to over-order them because you must have the mains as well. I highly recommend the Smoked Chicken and Hot Skillet Prawns.

Fresh Authentic Japanese dishes like Avocado Salmon Salad, Bara Chirashi, Chirashi Don ($13.80-$26.00) in affordable prices. Highly recommend their Spicy Ebi Maki (not in photo). Read more on my blog: FOOD TASTING: BARASHI -TEI - Little Miss Honey
