We were so full after all the dishes we had (read previous post for reviews on it), there’s always another stomach for dessert 😋 Hence, we decided to try the most expensive yet tantalising one which is the Baklava Cheesecake 🍰($22)

When it came, immediately wow-ed by the portion is huge for 2! And it looked great too with all the different components; the ricotta cheese dollop on the huge piece of cheesecake with generous pistachio bits and crunchy pastry skin called Kataifi which is made of almond and walnut being sprinkled all over.

First of all, the cheesecake was warm, moist soft and flavourful on its own with a floral-orange syrup poured all over it. Would have been better if the cheesecake was more firm and burnt around the edges to give more texture. The whipped cream cheese was warm also and felt that a simple vanilla ice-cream would have made a better pairing. Overall, it was a too sweet dessert and too big for 2 to finish. Would probably stick to their non-dessert items and go elsewhere around the area for dessert (such as the uh-mazing softserve 🍦 from Brotherbird to name one hehe)

We later found out that this item is new on the menu and were asked on our thoughts on it by one of the staff. So is it worth the extra calories? Answer is no. Save it for an additional main and that would do your dining there justice

Love the ambiance here, opted for the al fresco dining.

To start off our 5 dishes meal, its the Hummus Musabaha ($10) from the appetiser section. Ordered it with the Turkish Bread ($4.50) to thoroughly enjoy the dish. It was a very good plate of hummus except that there were mention of burnt miso but there were no trace of it at all. 🤔 But still swept the whole plate clean 👌

Secondly came all three as seen in the picture. On the bottom is under the Vege section, Fried Cauliflower ($20). We felt it was too oily and too much going on despite it tasting not bad. Personally, I liked the rice popcorn to give that crunchy texture to the rather mushy dish. Would not order it again unfortunately.

The Slow Roasted Lamb Shoulder ($42) was extremely good. Love the gaminess flavour from the lamb with its tender meat soaked up in the soup. It came with a plate of onions sprinkled with sumac and two sauces which I forgot 😅 Eat it together with them!

And my personal favourite, the Green Harissa Prawns ($38). This dish was such a delight with the split cream and harissa flavour combining to create an absolutely delicious sauce (reminiscent of green curry) 🤤 Ordered another bag of the bread to sweep up all the goodness. There were 5 medium-sized prawns that came along with the dish and sadly, its just like any other regular prawns. Felt that they weren’t seasoned enough.

Had their dessert as well (new on the menu!), which is on my next separate post. Do read it to see if it is worth the extra calories on your next visit! 😉

Ordered platter for 2 ($90) which comes with a pickle platter, nashville fries with an add on of yuzu slaw ($4). First of all, why call it yuzu slaw when you can’t taste yuzu? 🤔 And the pickle platter is a joke; with musty jalapenos and soft cucumbers...everything seemed to have been brined by the same mixture. Cornbread was ok but the honey on top .. what is that?? 🤢 Fries was nicely seasoned but i felt like breaking my jaw eating the fries, it was super hard 😠

On the platter, 2 brisket spring rolls were given and it was ok, better with the sauce. Still bearable. 2 small portion of pork belly was a tad too soft and mushy despite the nice seasoning. The alleged favourite of many, the burnt ends pastrami was not bad but quite charred and left and undesirable burnt taste. The buffalo wings was pretty good but nothing to shout about.

Onto the major stuff, the brisket was soft. But too soft. The pork ribs was also soft to the point it was appalling to eat it due to the overly soft texture🤮 The flavour was nice though.

Moral of the story: don’t bother eating here. May sound harsh but i was expecting quality food. Extremely disappointed after looking forward to eating at one of the best barbecue place in SG but only left with regrets, despite using my Chope vouchers. Sigh...

Had their Fried Chicken. Pretty juicy but a more expensive version of McSpicy? Haha... had their Cubano too and it was pretty good. Pity they no longer have cheese steak on their menu as I really wanted to try it :/

Heard so much about their food and has been wanting to come for a while now. Finally headed down for lunch around 3+ with an empty stomach so I ordered quite a bit: beef rendang, vegetables lodeh, sambal goreng, sotong, ayam bakar and bergedil for two pax. Was so hungry that i forgot to snap a pic.

Overall, their food was quite salty, especially the rendang. Not sure if it was just that day but couldn’t bring myself to finish it as other dishes was salty as well.. even the bergedil. Weird. Other dishes were really mediocre and even the chili was pretty mild and do not have the kick to it. Despite being pricier, I will choose Hajjah Maimunah anyday for the variety and taste. Honestly, very disappointed :(

Cookie butter soft serve ($6). 6 bucks for a soft serve, what?? But trust me, so so good with the biscuit and delectable crumbs given generously in the cup. Had the soft serve with their salted egg lava mochi before but eating it on its own really brings out the flavour of the cookie butter. Shoutout to their croissants as well which my boyfriend and I are a big fan of!

Finally here after all the good things I’ve heard about this place. Headed down to their old outlet 2 years back and when we were there, it was closed. So am back at the new outlet trying it for the first time. That’s two years of built up expectations!

Sadly, i was extremely disappointed. Ordered the Carne Asada Burrito ($13.50) and Pescador Quesadilla ($12) which is the fish. Burrito kinda reminded me of stuff’d .. there was nothing spectacular about it despite people saying this burrito is amazing and the best in SG. Mehh no flavour at all, the beef was really tasteless and it was all mushy with no apparent taste and crunch of salsa I was hoping for. Dipping in the sauces barely salvaged the dish. Just plain bad and if i wanted burrito, I can just get it from stuff’d next time at half the price seriously.

The fish quesadilla was a tad better but too oily. It was literally dripping each time I took a bite and the greasy aftertaste was appalling. Taste was also mediocre and nothing to rave about. First and last time I’ll be back at Muchachos.

Ordered the highly raved Smoke Duck Linguine ($28) and very generous portion, recommended to share for two. Succulent pieces of smoke duck and I think this will suit those who love lemak cili padi but cannot take the spice as the taste is pretty watered down.

Cheesy Kupang ($15) was really delicious with huge and plenty of mussels thrown in. Had to mop all the deliciousness with bread, for an additional $5. Wish the bread was toasted instead of soft. Dish got too jelak at the end so recommended to share with at least 3!

The malayan wings ($14) was nice and crispy with kicap manis sauce. The salmon yakitori was on the house and this was nice as well with specks of cili padi and the sauce ( cuz it’s free also😅😂) Really good hospitality 👍

Last but not least, the most popular item here Ondeh-Ondeh Cake ($9.50) definitely did not disappoint with the taste staying true to the kueh itself. Eat with the vanilla ice cream at the side for a more cooling experience. Must try!!

Overall, have to say good food but even better service with free dish and a complimentary durian cake and $20 voucher with no minimum spending for our next return😱 Now this is how u get people to come back 💯

Went for the Sunday Dinner Buffet. First of all, Super classy and gorgeous setting. Staffs were extremely friendly and helpful and attentive too! Double thumbs up👍👍

Onto the food, fresh seafood available such as King Crab legs and mussels and loved the oysters!! Local cuisines were done well (Laksa and Char Siew) the Chili Crab sauce was too starchy and sort of sour but still loved it with the mantou and the crab was 👍Special shoutout to the popiah which is unique as there was a good prawn taste to it and crunchy bits.
Definitely love it!! Except the satay which the meat were too tough and sauce were too thick.

My favourite of the night was the Wagyu Beef with the Truffle Mashed Potato, so so good especially with the mushroom sauce. If only I wasn’t already full, would have more of it. 👌

The dessert however, mostly was a let down😕... with the coconut sorbet I suspect they used coconut milk?! 😰 It was really bad. Two of the good ones was the Pandan pie cake and highly recommend the peanut wrap which comes with taro ice cream inside. Heavenly 🤤 Ended of with a complimentary chocolate cake for a birthday celebration which was pretty good. Overall a pretty good experience and might return but the desserts have more room for improvement

Been here many times and I have to say just like everyone, I keep coming back for the Shiok Maki ($16.80) which is so decadent and really satisfying with all the generous mentaiko sauce. Always sweep the plate clean💯

Also the tofu with fried salted fish skin is another really amazing item on the menu, super recommended👍 with the fried tofu, which also has the same good mentaiko sauce over the fried crispy tofu on the outside and fluffy yummy on the inside. And the crunch fish skin mmm i am craving for it again, So sinful but so worth the calories🙈

Had other sushi as well such as Emperor Maki which is worth trying too! Always a long queue coz this place is so popular but i would always gladly queue to eat here hehe

Everything in the picture was bad I honestly don’t get what’s all the good reviews about. Only thing acceptable was the liu sha bao but even that was pretty cold but otherwise flavour was not bad. Don’t bother coming down.

Had the Grilled Chicken ($8) some time ago that sits atop a pool of mashed potato, garden salad and garlic bread. Have to say for its price point, it is super worth it! Tender meat and generous with the serving, creamy mashed potato and flavourful bread. Also ordered the Onion Rings (not in picture) which had a generous serving and tasted good albeit a tad too oily and too much for me to finish on my own.

Only thing is it’s not that near to the MRT hence had to take a bus ride. I purposely traveled to try the recommended item and was left feeling super full. For this price point, i was satisfied and couldn’t ask for more.
