PRICE: $4
STALL: Uh, same row as King of Fried Rice, facing the road, near the ATM
WAITING TIME: ~ 5 mins on a Sunday evening
[King of Fried Rice's waiting time was a shocking 1.5hour long so we found ourselves better options]
REMARKS:
- 3 thick slices of melt-in-your-mouth pork belly
- option to choose the type of noodles
- comes with prawn soup
- really really loved it
WILL WE RETURN? YES
PRICE: $6 for charsiew siobak rice
"I think this is the best charsiew I've eaten," he said. "The siobak is nice but normal."

WAITING TIME: Less than 3 mins on a weekday lunchtime
REMARKS:
- Generous portion for this price
- Lots of crispy beancurd sheets (can also be purchased at $2 a bag)
- Drowning in too much of the sauce though
PRICE: $3
WAITING TIME: ~5 mins on a weekday lunchtime
REMARKS:
- no cockles
- VERY VERY VERY GARLICKY -- he likes it but it's a little too garlicky for me to taste the actual sweetness of the CKT
- Manned by an old couple in the middle row; stall also sells Portuguese egg tarts in a hot oven
AVAILABLE IN: $4.00/$6.00
WAITING TIME: 10 mins on a weekday afternoon
PRAWNS: 2
SOTONG: Yes
FRIED PORK LARD: not much

PRICE: $6.50 (or $6.90?) + $2.20 for curly fries and soup combo
WAITING TIME: 11 mins on a weekday after 1pm
REMARKS:
- The tomato pasta serving is so generous!
- Hamburg was tasty and of a good size, but could be juicier, and I'll prefer to have it with some kind of sauce
- Curly fries maintained their crispness throughout the meal
- Soup was a bit of a letdown - too gooey, clumpy, no sight of the ingredients, no clue what soup is it actually (potato? mushroom?)
- Will order the pork belly hotplate again but probably not this one
PRICE: $8.90
WAITING TIME: 11 mins on a weekday after 1pm
REMARKS:
- Seriously tender and thick slabs of sous vide pork belly!
- Fragrant garlic rice that goes well with pork belly and the sauce
- Manned by two young guys
Add Remarks:
This hawker centre is split into two levels, with the hipster section on the upper floor. Settled here because there was almost no social distancing observed on the first floor -- old people taking up seats across one full row of tables and intermingling urgh.
Food on the second floor are hip and slightly pricier, hence less crowd and there were ample seats.
PRICE: $3/4 for black/white carrot cake
(+$0.20 for takeaway)
WAITING TIME: Under 5 minutes when we went on a Friday morning around 11am
REMARKS:
- Really generous serving size! $3 doesn't usually get you this much carrot cake elsewhere
- Crispy top layer!
- Generous with the amount of egg too!
- Very compatible chilli
- Not oily!
- Not much of chye poh though
WILL WE EAT THIS AGAIN? Yes
PRICE: $10
WAITING TIME: It's the stall with the longest queue whenever we visit in the evening. Visited at 3.30pm on a weekday this time round so there was no queue.
REMARKS:
- Affordable price of $10 for all these, considering that there are 3 meat dishes out of 5
- Every dish here was good, esp the meats
- Shall order rice instead of porridge next time cos it goes better with the curry and braised meat sauce
