WAITING TIME: Went during off peak hour, we were the only diners so it took under 5 minutes

REMARKS:
- Noodles texture is very interesting, not your usual la mian. Looks like the thin version of korean jjajangmyeon noodles and almost as chewy.
- We both didn't like the Zha Jiang Mian. The seasoning was too strong and not well balanced.
- Dan Dan Mian was nicer but not your usual DDM with peanut sauce. One would think this is just a Spicy Mala Noodles with minced meat.
- Dumplings are nice and super cheap!
- Drinks here are cheap, around $1+
- Coffeeshop plastic chairs, no music, no ambience, but cheap!

WILL WE RETURN? Will not specially return but may pop by for cheap dumplings if we are nearby.

WAITING TIME: ~ 5 min on a weekday around 1.15pm

REMARKS:
- Pork chop does resemble the one at DTF
- Fried rice is cooked with the short grain pearl rice
- Fried rice wasn't well seasoned so we added soy sauce and it tasted better after
- Compared to DTF, it's half the price but more than half as good
- Compared to KOFR, mmmm...this slightly loses out to KOFR which is more similar to DTF. But service and waiting time is better here for sure.

PRICE: $4.80 nett each for roast chicken rice and steamed chicken rice

WAITING TIME: Gave up waiting at Menya Kanae on opening day so we came here and got served our food in 5 mins flat

REMARKS:
- Air-conditioned space yet that they don't charge GST and service charge 👍👍👍
- Rice is fragrant
- Like the chilli sauce and ginger sauce
- Big portions of chicken
- Roasted chicken has really nice crispy flavourful skin
- Tender chicken meat; not tough, nor dry
- Felt safe here cos they did check for Safeentry proof and scan every person's temp 👍👍👍

WAITING TIME: ~5 mins on a Sunday evening
[Gave up on King of Fried Rice cos the wait was 1.5hr loooong. Went to its neighbouring stall instead. No regrets.]

REMARKS:
- savoury type of fried kway teow
- very eggy
- kinda like penang char kway teow

STALL: Uh, same row as King of Fried Rice, facing the road, near the ATM

WAITING TIME: ~ 5 mins on a Sunday evening
[King of Fried Rice's waiting time was a shocking 1.5hour long so we found ourselves better options]

REMARKS:
- 3 thick slices of melt-in-your-mouth pork belly
- option to choose the type of noodles
- comes with prawn soup
- really really loved it

WILL WE RETURN? YES

PRICE: $6 for charsiew siobak rice

"I think this is the best charsiew I've eaten," he said. "The siobak is nice but normal."

WAITING TIME: Got it almost immediately on a Public Holiday around 2PM

REMARKS:
- 2 pieces of really good and crispy chicken wings
- Rice can be more fragrant
- Loved the chilli sauce
- Loved the free flow soup

WAITING TIME: 25 LONG MINUTES 😑😑😑
Definitely wasn't expecting this long a wait on a weekday at 3PM.
Reason? It all started with the guy taking orders. He gave us a number tag different from the order number he written down in their system. It was off-peak hours and we were the 3rd group of customers. Those before us received their fried rice. And then the many groups after us all got theirs too. Our order number never got called.

When we enquired at the counter, another guy asked for our order tag, looked at their order sheet, and then nonchalantly said they must have gotten our order number wrong. I informed him we had ordered 25 mins ago, long before the other groups arrived. There was no apology. Just a shrug.

REMARKS:
- objectively speaking, yes the fried rice, the pork chop, the chilli were all good. Really good. On par with DTF.

WILL WE RETURN? No, because of the bad service recovery.

PRICE: $6.50 Biang Biang Mian
Canned drink $1.80 😑

WAITING TIME: 20 minutes on a weekday 3.15PM. Ridiculously slow and inefficient.

REMARKS:
- Food does not justify waiting time
- Objectively speaking, we did not exactly love the two different bowls of noodles we had here

WAITING TIME: What waiting time? Everything came within 5 minutes. Even the cooked dishes. We were seriously amazed.

REMARKS:
- Soup was totally bland at the start, I had to add soya sauce into my own bowl of soup
- Soup became really pretty salty towards the end
- Standard old-school steamboat ingredients. None of that fancy fish glue, prawn glue and whatnot.
- The youngsters at our table liked the Hainanese pork chop, the older folks not so
- Loved the chicken rice
- The omelette reminds me of pancake in a good way. Hated the bittergourd though.
- HOT AND SWEATY cos we were seated near the kitchen. There was no fan nor aircon near us. NEED to pick our own tables next time instead of getting assigned to such a bad table.

WAITING TIME: No queue at 8PM on Saturday. Food arrived very fast. 5 minutes or so.

REMARKS:
- Ordered the sesame chicken countless times from both outlets. It's never failed us.
- First time ordering the qing long veggie. Loved it! This price for this somewhat rare veg is such a steal! There are only so few veggies that I like, and this is now added to my very exclusive list.

Onion omelette $6.50++

WAITING TIME: No queue to enter at 3.30pm on a weekday. Rice took less than 5 mins to arrive, onion omelette just slightly more

REMARKS:
- Addicted to the soup that is served with each plate of chicken rice. SO GOOD. A kind Auntie gave us two bowls of refill.
- The chicken rice itself -- not that impressive. Still prefer our local hainanese chicken rice (more savoury and fragrant)
- Don't quite enjoy the sauces either. Too sour for me.
