this ratchet looking sweet potato fries were pretty impressionable? Crunchy edges, starchy sweet mushy insides. with some bomb 💣 German Orange-mustard and mayo

It looked promising! Coming from this traditional looking kueh shop on level 2, with an old man (perhaps the skilled kueh master of 60-70 years?) manning the stall.
But I was sad to say that 2 out of 4 had leaked.. these 2 also had a lump of sugar that didn’t melt within the casing :(
1/10.. no go.
This was quite the hidden gem! With the large succulent sweet prawns in boisterous herbal soup 😋👌🏻👌🏻

Have to love the lightly crispy and fluffy you tiao dished up here.
Unlike most places where it’s plain doughy and chewy without any crisp!

It’s both herbally and peppery.
Like a unique cross between Malaysian and Singaporean style.
Crowd pleaser for sure!
Although.. I’m prob a disloyal Singaporean who still prefers an authentic rich herbal Malaysian style..
Found this one.. sort of on the fences in too many levels. Not rich, not very herbally, not very peppery. What are you?
But the meat does fall off the bone so lovely

Would it have been more satisfying if the meat came in substantial ping pong ball chops than these puny nuggets?
Yes.
:)
The cereal sand coat is also not so fragrant or memorable.. you don’t see the chili Padi right? Or that many curry leaves

With the rise of other XLB in Singapore, including home-grown Paradise Dynasty, DTF has long been witnessing a gradual decline in their popularity.
YET, I dare say their consistency remains top notch, even if it’s taste doesn’t quite.
It’s a lighter, savoury salty based soup provided within these little parcels. Consistently thin and supple skin :)
8/10.
Okay but I still love the fresh and naturally sweet stock in Paradise Dynasty and savouring DTF’s now leaves me wanting for its better counterpart.... :/
Can’t miss the Egg and scallion fried rice at DTF.
The scallion pungent grease coats every grain perfectly along with the creamy egg bits ☺️
If you have to have your meat, please get this ☝🏻. Juicy pork chop with hits of five spice that will brighten the flavour profile of the foods dtf has to offer 👌🏻👌🏻

Incredibly fluffy and spongy.. somewhat reminiscent of those vanilla cake mix boxes.
I enjoy lightly toasting it till the chips turn gooey in a slightly crisp muffin top!
Oh and don’t expect to find choc chips beyond the top portion! Haha. The rest is really just cake.

Smiley warm hearted baker aunties are such a delight :)
Slippery noodles in beef broth makes for a comforting dish any day.
I don’t think it is the best or richest or most flavourful beef broth but it’s pretty
easy on the palate to down. (Moderate flavour density)
I thought the noodles didn’t have a great bite to it but I definitely enjoy the tender tendons and beef chunks!

Won’t deny the gripe I held onto aside from this cup over the price.
But. Isn’t this a rich delicious cuppa coffee, with delectable wafts of the coconutty fragrance from the Gula Melaka that was also slightly savoury 😋

You know why this stands out? Because the price and product quite equitably justifies each other in this market filled with hypes and fakes.
I like that the fries were a lot crispier, the cheese was a lot less salty (IN COMPARISON to the MBFC Carnival) :)
The cheese sauce was nicely mixed into the crevices of the fries this time too. Yum!
