Still one of the best things on their menu. Truffle is so tasty and almost feels like you're dipping straight into a really rich truffle meets mushroom soup.
The cafe is at the annex of the community church. They serve a simple fare and a good selection of cakes. Personally not wow-ed but given the dearth of cafes in Bishan, this is possibly a nice little nook to relax at. Had a chocolate lava cake (doesn't ooze but it was nice) and a hot choco!
If you only have time for one meal in Jalan Besar, let it be this widely acclaimed, family-run laksa stall. Sungei Road Laksa's coconut milk broth is simmered over charcoal fire, resulting in a flavourful yet light gravy that you can slurp up without feeling jelat. The sweet yet savoury broth is mildly spicy, so those looking to enjoy a spicier gravy will want to follow Tastemaker Wei Zhi Chiang's advice and stir in a few spoonfuls of their sambal. Coupled with fresh cockles, fishcake slices and slippery bee hoon, the one-size only Laksa ($3) is eaten with just a spoon — no chopsticks needed!

When you're in the mood for a new dining experience, head right on to Punggol East, where a cluster of seven restaurants in shipping containers are now operational. Located within Social Enterprise Eco Development at Social Innovation Park, these container restaurants overlook the waterway, offering great atmosphere for alfresco dining. Whether you're up for a nibble or a full meal, you're likely to find something, from classic Fish and Chips ($6.90) from Big Fish Small Fish to tasty Sambal Stingray ($13) from D'Grill. To beat the heat, hop over to L'Chaim Bistro for a couple of pints ($6 for half; $11 for full), or cool off with a cold treat at like the Matcha Sherbet ($6.30) at Leung Kee Healthy Dessert. Pro tip: Check the weather forecast before you leave home. The sun can be merciless in the afternoons, so we would suggest coming by for an early dinner.

Love the food at this place but it gets crowded and seating is limited. Hard to find places that sell Rosti and this is priced competitively! They also sell Pies from Windowsill here!
Everyone knows char kway teow is a sinfully delicious dish, and good ones are hard to find. The char kway teow here is coated in a sweet, special mixture of sauces and with noticeably more egg than elsewhere. Plump cockles, beansprouts and good ol' crunchy pork lard make this even better. Freshly fried, greasy char kway teow laden with wok hei? It doesn't get better than this.

Awesome thin crust pizza with generous toppings that came fresh from the oven! This was really value for money too. $26++ for a whole pizza and draft beer (suntory/asahi). Definitely coming back here again.
The fries were all soaked up in oil at the bottom. Not the best I've had, but still good!
