Had a Ristretto Gibraltar made for me yesterday, and i thought i'd check out some Coffee 101 on the Gilbraltar which was interesting! #burpple
Ristretto is a very "short" shot of espresso coffee, and since the water comes in contact with the grinds for a much shorter time the caffeine is extracted in reduced ratio to the flavorful coffee oils. The resultant shot could be described as bolder, fuller, with more body and less bitterness. All of these flavors are usually attributed to espresso in general, but are more pronounced in a ristretto. For a double espresso shot is typically around 60 ml (2 fl oz), while a double ristretto is typically 45 ml (1–1.5 fl oz). The Gibraltar is a 4.5 fl oz glass and it comes with a coffee to milk ratio of 1:3
Check out my breakfast! Crispy baked bacon, toast, succulent mushrooms, gourmet sausage (not those processed ones), and bakes beans! All well worth $12.80, cause this plate of breakfast has been prepared with passion. You can almost feel it. Everything is fresh and delicious. You gotta have brunch at #jewelcoffee one day. #burpple
Sukiyaki udon at waraku Japanese Resturant at central mall! Not bad, and decent cause its really all about the company in such restaurants. They call themselves casual dinning. You can easily get a table for 9-10 anytime, cause of the space. #burpple
Today's lunch was Beef horfun from Hans. I must say its one of the better horfuns I have eaten. But at a price of $7.80. Well you can say that customers are paying for the air-condition. While the 2 other horfuns that you need to try is at Ghim Moh market and the famous Geylang Beef horfun. Both will only set you back at most $4.50 to $6. As you can already tell I'm a sucker for beef and horfun! It's my comfort food! #burpple
