3 munchies: With the river prawn bigger than the size of my palm, it was certainly a crowd pleaser when the signature goong pao landed on the table. While the flesh of the freshwater prawn was sweet and firm, it was, however, a tad overcooked, leaving the meat dry and slightly chewy. Seafood lovers would dig the rich, creamy prawn head oil – something I'd usually avoid having, though. Thankfully, the spicy and sour dipping sauce was a perfect complement for the prawn.
Set in a relaxed atmosphere that oversees the slow-moving Chao Phraya River, I'd recommend all visitors to dine on the floating dining room in your day trip to Ayutthaya. My other preferred dishes include the papaya salad, Thai fish cake, and spicy lemon steamed squid.
