Everything home-made. Delicious gravy, chilli, braised duck, fish cakes and Teochew tamago . Enough said
Braised pork belly, big intestines, boiled squid and fish cake. Oh the chilli sauce is classic. Quite a good number of Teochew foodie visit this stall regularly. Delicious. Value for money for group of three and more. Level 1 stall.
Word has it that the ubiquitous "ramen egg" was the brainchild of the owner's grandfather, and the Japanese after the Occupation brought it back and made it their own. Okay, back to the taste test. Everything was really agreeable with my half-Teochew tastebuds - from the soft, naturally flavourful squid (do pair it with the plum sauce), succulent fish steamed with chye buay, handmade fish cakes, braised tau pok, simmered cabbage to the legendary runny yolk braised eggs. Psst, they have another branch in Hong Lim Market that's managed by a relative.
For all Teochew people i gonna recommend u this stall at Amoy Hawker selling teochew porridge. This Stall dun serve many dishes they only do a few side dishes that they are capable of. They sell handmade fishcake , Taukwa Pau , Braised Duck, Steamed Sotong & steamed fishes. These are just enough to go well with the porridge. All their dishes are priced reasonable except for their steamed fish because the fish is market price. To Avoid dissapointment pls come early as they will closed by 2pm Daily.
