HUGE PORTIONS AND AUTHENTIC YAY their authenticity and PORTION SIZES really blew us away!!! it was supposed to be food for two - the two of us ate until we were STUFFED and dabaoed, the rest was enough to feed 4….. so just imagine how big their portions are HAHAHAAH our favourite was dipping into like 6?? different sauces and trying to choose whats our fav (torn!! cldnt choose!! each had their own unique taste and why its nice - some were refreshing, creamy, fragrant etc) we also LOVED the desseert!!!! the addition of ice cream and the whole presentation of him drowning the dessert made it better HAHAHA

10/10 Food + super friendly staff They recently moved from 60 Bussorah Street to 32 Bussorah Street. The food was really authentic & the staff were so so friendly. You’d have to 100% try their Kunefe, it was the best one I’ve ever had😍😍 Other things I’d recommend is their lamb pide and lamb mandi, and of course the hummus! So so yummy!

Derwish Turkish Derwish Turkish offers a vibrant and satisfying dive into Middle Eastern flavours. Poor service and food Would not recommend this place. The restaurant is cramped, crowded and hot (the aircon wasn’t working), the staff were rude and the food isn’t great. The hummus tasted one-dimensional and the babaganoush was stale. The Shish Kebab was perhaps the only thing we liked. Lastly, do not make an online booking as they will not allow you to use burpple.

Turkish Food First time eating at a proper Turkish restaurant so not sure if the taste of the food is considered authentic. For those intending to use Burpple, take note that you shouldn't make a reservation on google - had a strange experience of being made to call on the spot to cancel the reservation before we were allowed to redeem the deal. Food was alright, nothing to shout about personally. Portion was ok, but for the quality/quantity probably wouldn't be worth it without the 1 for 1. Best dish of the day was ghe kunefe - be warned that it takes quite long to prepare (more like 20mins instead of the 10mins mentioned). Did expect it to be bigger for the price when I first saw it, but as it is quite cheesey on the inside, the portion is enough as it can get quite jelak even when sharing. Total bill was around $90.

Shish tawouk ($12.90) Despite wrapping it with chicken breast cubes, they were sufficiently tender. They were well-marinated in yogurt and spices with hints of curry flavour which I loved! 😋 It felt less salty than typical Stuff’d kebabs 🤭 The wrap itself didn’t turn soggy and I rlly enjoyed the thin fries which remained crisp even after leaving it on for awhile. My only gripe was that some parts of the chicken seemed over-cooked, giving a slight rubbery texture. [7.5/10]

Hummus ($11.90) Deliciously creamy but not too cloying, with a consistency like mashed potatoes! It was my first time trying 😙 The accompanying pita bread was chewy with a yeasty aroma, though I would prefer it slightly less dense and easier to cut 😆 [8/10]

Jumbo Platter We tried for the 1st time grab delivery for this awesome platter that we usually eat in Sofra restaurant itself. It’s so pretty even in a take-out! Fed so many of us at home! Love it!

Kunefe It looks so good but one must appreciate coconut to like this dessert. I liked it!

First few bites were pretty good, but as the initial hype dies down, it starts to get jelak and cloying. Thought the sauce itself was not bad, couldn’t exactly put my finger to it, but there was a savoury seafoody taste. 15 minutes into the meal and the oil was starting to form a puddle at the bottom of the bowl so I ended up not eating 1/3 of my pasta. Would have been better if it was spicier, but this version is definitely good for those who like just a tinge of spice. The squid was chewy and slightly crunchy, but there was a fishiness to it that I didn’t like and found odd because I’ve never known squid to have a fishy taste, but my friend agreed after trying it too. Pasta Sotong Hitam 💵: $17.90++ 📈: 5/10 🤔: Pasta was cooked al dente, sauce itself was not bad, but becomes a bit too much after awhile. Was a pretty oily dish, and 1/4 of my pasta was submerged in oil after about 15 minutes into the meal. Squid also had a fishiness to it and although I like squid, I couldn’t get myself to finish it. Hummus Never had hummus this good before! Was part of the package of the dinner, and didn’t expect this to be so huge. The restaurant is really generous!

Daily Bowl @$8.50 Add on $1 for additional serving of chicken meat I can eat this everyday without getting sick of it. Very long Q during lunch time. Healthy and Filling

Smoked Salmon Daily Bowl [$7.80] Always enjoy having Stuff’d! I usually stick to my standard combination but was eyeing to try more of their seasonal specials. Went with the truffle egg mayo, herbed cauliflower rice and sesame soya sprouts. Some other seasonals available were the dry laksa pasta, tabbouleh salad and black fungus celery. As usual, find the Stuff’d selection pretty good. Was quite surprised by the truffle egg mayo that came in a huge portion. It was creamy and the truffle touch was really not bad! Would skip the sesame soya sprouts as they were a bit bland.

Kebab set $8 Complete value for money. kebab drink and side included for $8, which is prefect. I ordered the chicken, there are beef and impossible options too. The only downside is the staff. Very confused and unclear. Rest is good. Not taking it as a negative for such an inexpensive place. 4 on 5 for me

Kunefe with ice cream ($17.90++) It was my first time trying this Turkish dessert, and it was a pleasant surprise. This Kunefe with ice cream ($17.90++) has a fried noodle-like texture for the pastry dredged in a sugar-based syrup, layered with cheese inside, and topped with nuts. The pastry itself is warm and it has the perfect balance when paired with the ice cream. Overall taste is quite reminiscent of some hometown dish (which we cannot recall lol). 2 photos to show the pastry. 1 dish is enough for 3-4 pax :)

Arkadas Cafe 16/07/19 (Part 4/5) Note: - All prices are EXCLUSIVE of 10% service charge - Will not be rating the price as I have no comparison when it comes to Turkish Cuisine Kunefe ($12.90++) 'Künefe (kyoon-eh-FAY') is a traditional Middle Eastern dessert made with thin noodle-like pastry, or alternatively fine semolina dough, soaked in sweet, sugar-based syrup, and typically layered with cheese'; Typically topped with pistachio powder as well As my virgin experience eating this warm pastry dessert, it was very creamy (From the whole cream), subtly sweet and crunchy. Its quite dense and stringy with the entire exterior having a texture similar to that of the light crunchy ends of a Min Jiang Kueh (Chinese pancake) combined with the bite of Hong Kong Crispy Noodles. While the dish was drenched in sweet syrup, the cheese within the pastry helped to cut through it, making the dish not too cloying, a comforting dessert to end off the meal. 🇸🇬河边人均340人民币但味道特别的波斯餐厅 Hummus，每次去中东式餐厅都是必点的鹰嘴豆泥，好像每家做法略有不同，这家的比较少油的做法，整体偏干；把它抹在烤饼上吃，味道越吃越香，越香越上头 第一道主菜是Ghormeh Sabzi，这是一道经典的波斯炖菜，独特且丰富的咸鲜口味，加了炖熟的韭葱、香菜和欧芹等草药，这些草药为菜肴增添了清新的香气，另外还加入干石榴或柠檬，带来微妙的酸味，与草药的香气相得益彰，我们选了羊肉，经过长时间炖煮，肉质较为软烂，与豆类和草药混合，形成浓厚的风味。 第二道主菜是Tekeh Masti是波斯酸奶牛肉，味道真的很特别，牛肉应该是用波斯香料和酸奶提前腌制，口感很柔嫩、因为酸奶的加入，增加了一丝清爽感，味道鲜明且层次丰富。但是对比它的价格，折合人民币320元rmb，它的份量可以说少的可怜，一串牛肉顶上一顿自助的价格了 虽然味道比较特别，但不可能再去吃了，两个人吃个半饱，花了130新，CP值太低了，不值当不推荐
