Linguine Pescatora | $28.90++ Fresh Buchot mussels, little neck clams, medley of seafood in light tomato sauce. Find that the pasta portion was little in comparison to its price. However the seafood portion was just right. Pasta was al dente but its price probably makes me think twice of returning. Nonetheless, a very homely vibe which I enjoyed.

Cannoli For desserts, we ordered a dessert platter which came with homemade Sicilian cannoli shells filled with mascarpone-ricotta cheese and rolled in pistachio and vanilla ice cream. I don’t have a sweet tooth but this is so delicious!

La Barca Funghi E Tartufo We also ordered a pizza to share and we picked La Barca Funghi E Tartufo ($28.90). When you cut into the pizza, a decadent mixture of truffle pate, mozzarella, smoked scamorza cheese and button mushrooms oozes right out from the middle and it goes really well with the soft and chewy pizza crust.

Chicken Pot I tried the signature chicken pot, which had marinated chicken pieces in a dark brown sauce with green capsicum, celery and sliced onions. I chose a small pot which is enough for 1-2 pax. The spiciness level is customisable and there are additional ingredients available for add-on that range from $1.90 to $3.90. I had mine added with potatoes, black fungus, shimeji mushrooms and instant noodles. The meat was tender and absorbed the rich flavour of the gravy well. Double Soufflé Pancakes This was a seasonal pancake (strawberry version) it changes every few months according to the Japanese seasons!

Jap Fusion Pasta! Favourite tomato cream pasta nailed here, though the sweeter and more bubbly souffle egg does take some getting used to (usually more dessert-ish). This is their anniversary special dish, and they kindly excluded the "chili" for me. The Fuwa fuwa porcini mushroom risotto captured the dense and buttery taste well, but felt like the rice isn't the usual hardy risotto rice. Tgif dinner :)

Omu Soufflé Curry Rice the first bite of the soufflé curry omurice was such a treat! light fluffy and savory egg mixed with the rich and flavorful curry rice was delicious. the textural contrast of the fluffy omelette and the braised beef, mushrooms, and bacon was like a symphony of mouthfeel. this has everything- a perfect harmony of richness, acidity, sweetness, and herbacousness. the curry was slightly sweet but not cloying. will definitely eat again. pairs perfectly with the dark and bitter aroma of the hoshino drip coffee.

Mala Xiang Guo A small shop selling MXG with limited seats, especially during peak hours. What's good about this place is the customisation of numb 麻 and spicy 辣 level. They have 4 levels of 麻辣 and if you just crave some spicy food without the numbing effect then this place is right for you. There is a minimum order of $7 (excl rice) with the option to top up $0.80 for soup bases such as fragrant mala, pickled cabbage, beauty in tomato or fragrant sesame paste. I had mine dry and stir-fried with less spicy and mild numbing levels. It came out fragrant, the right level of spice for me and a little numb for me. Perhaps I should just make do without peppercorns to save the numbness and enjoy the fragrant spice. It was very tasty and addictive. Buns The steamed buns were soft and fluffy, and filled with yummy tastings - oozy salted egg custard ($4.80), sweet and tender honey char siew ($4.80), and smooth naturally tasting orh nee ($4.80). Only wish was to have more generous fillings:bun ratio.

Deep fried dim sum In general, we preferred the deep fried over the steamed dim sum items. Sesame Mango Prawn roll ($5.50) had a refreshing mango, radish, and prawn filling. The Beancurd Skin with Prawn ($5.50) and Filo prawn ball ($4.80) were fragrant and crispy. The red bean pancake ($4.80) had flavourful and smooth red bean filling, but found the pancake itself to be a tad thick and underbaked.

Chicken Pot 🐥 Affordable and delicious chicken pot within PLQ's food court. Comes in 3 different sizes and you can customise by adding extra ingredients (highly recommend to add extra stuff). Normal pot comes with chicken, some veggies (think celery, onion and green peppers).

Wanton in Spicy Sauce The Wanton in Spicy Sauce 红油抄手 ($5.50 for 8) is really good as well. The pork filling is wrapped in thin wanton skin and doused in a spicy and vinegary sauce - so appetising!

Chong Qing Noodles The Chong Qing Noodles 重庆小面 ($4) from Divine Chicken Pot reminds me of a less peanutty version of their Dan Dan Noodles. Notwithstanding that I opted for 小辣 (i.e. lowest level of spiciness), the combination of minced meat, chilli, spring onion and chopped peanut is still as fragrant and delicious as ever. As per all their noodles, the portion is very big which is great value-for-money👍🏻
