[JB, MALAYSIA] Being one of the more highly rated bak kut teh in JB, we decided to try it out. Left pretty impressed and wasn't too expensive as well!
We got a small Dry Bak Kut Teh and a medium soup version. The dry version was perfect with rice, due to its thickened sauce that had incredible umami while being on the salter side. The ribs were relatively tender but the best part is the lady finger pieces as well as the cuttlefish!
The soup version was also pretty decent, but their rendition is pretty sweet. Definitely more sweet than savoury. The herbal aromatics were quite strong too! We added some pork intestine and stomach, which were delightful as well! They did not have any odour at all.
Total bill was RM 91 with additional vegetables and rice, which isn't too expensive. What a comforting meal to have especially when it rains outside 😍 This place may not be the best bak kut teh I've had, but it's definitely pretty decent!
