They were all served separately and one is suppose to mix the three together before slurping the jelly up. It was a really interesting dessert with ultra soft jelly that paired well with the sweet syrup and bean paste. Would highly recommend trying it!

Mochi is awesome, even better when you grill-it-yourself before dipping it into hot & sweet Tanba azuki beans soup, served with salted kombu which I think I can feel the licorice hint...
