Haven’t tried Mdm Ling Bakery’s famed baos, but got to try their new Ma Lai Gao (Cantonese steamed cakes) recently. They were super convenient to prepare, you’ve just got to air fry or steam them right out of the freezer. Super fluffy soft and lightly sweetened! The brown sugar flavour is not very pronounced but the hints of it was lovely.

If you’re a fan of kueh lapis, you might want to check out Mdm Ling Bakery’s latest addition to their menu - Kueh Lapis Legit (‘legit’ here means ‘rich in taste’ in Bahasa Indonesia). These multi-layered cakes are soft, moist, buttery and not too sweet. There are 4 flavours - Signature Original, Pandan, Chocolate & Hawthorn that come encased in a Peranakan-inspired gift box. The Signature Original and Pandan flavours are my favourites! This would certainly be a good gifting option for your loved ones.
The Best of Kueh Lapis Legit (4-piece set) is priced at $78 per box, and for a limited time only, take 10% off and enjoy a special launch price of $70.20. Order now at https://www.mdmlingbakery.com/.
P.S. What you see in my post is just a small portion of each kueh lapis legit; each piece is much bigger and you can check @mdmlingbakery for the actual size.

💸 Signature premium red bean buns (Tau sar pau)- $7.90/7 pcs

Finally had the chance to try Mdm Ling's red bean pau when we purchased it together with their CNY snacks!!😃 We really really love the texture of the red bean filling, it is super smooth and not grainy at all. Also, we thought the red bean paste was a little too sweet on its on but perfect when eaten together with the rest of the pau. Hence, even though the filling might look little, but the filling to pau ratio is actually perfect as too much filling would make it overly sweet!💯 Overall, the pau itself tasted pretty normal as its not really fluffy but more on the dry side. However, the red bean filling really wowed us and thus making this pau worth a try! 👍👍
The filling was smooth and I could eat 2 at one go !!!
Great for breakfast / tea time
Soooo good! The chocolate filling in the middle really flows 🤩 love that the cookies are not overly sweet as well. Would have preferred for the cookie to be softer but otherwise, this was v satisfying. Can understand why it was OOS for awhile :)
Both are great! Super fragrant and addictive. My fav has got to be the Kopi Siew Dai butter cookies. You get the strong coffee notes and a bit of bitter aftertaste, just the right amount of sweetness too. Texture wise, it’s really in between those that melt-in-your-mouth-kind and hard brittle cookies. Glad we stumbled upon MLB this CNY! Looking forward to try their other products :-)
