The Steamed Bak Kut Teh Xiao Long Bao ($11) did not work for me - it did not remind me of BKT and I was a little thrown off by the peppery taste.
We also ordered Carrot Squid Paste Cake ($12) which tasted like a decent fried carrot cake.
The most surprising dish was the Sichuan Chopped Pepper Grouper Fish Crystal Dumpling ($12) that were shaped like goldfishes - I did not expect to find a whole piece of grouper inside the dumpling. Felt like I was bitting into an actual fish😂 This is quite mild in terms of spiciness but still enjoyable.
Snow White's Macadamia Yam Bun ($11) made a dramatic entrance and the taste was on point. The soft steamed buns were a great match with the smooth yam filling that wasn’t too sweet. Recommend this to all orh nee lovers!
The Crispy Soft Shell Crab Rice Rolls with Cereals ($14) was very good. The crispy soft shell crab was wrapped in silky chee cheong fun, drizzled in a savoury sauce and topped with bonito flakes. This was so good!
My favourite item was the Black Pepper Tenderloin Beef Ham Shui Kok ($13), which looked like hedgehogs that were too cute to be eaten. The crust was light and airy and the black pepper beef filling was tasty.
