Little Ramen Bar

It's a quaint little shop at the heart of the CBD area which houses all the shopping arcades and also eateries like the Vietnamese pho or even the Shanghai dumpling shops that has a never ending stream of people queuing for it.. Back to the ramen shop which is located just opposite of the H&M store of Melbourne.. It's just a stone throw away to this ramen bar which is really busy during lunch time and it's even busier during winter time.. Patience is virtue when it comes to eating ramen as this ramen bar is really a small shop so the queue is quite long but their staff is ever so helpful and efficient in ensuring everyone able to savour their offerings.. After much wait and studying of their menu, I had the pleasure in trying out their garlic broth ramen.. The portion here is really generous and it has that 3 pork slices which is really silky smooth and clean in terms of texture and flavour.. Not forgetting the broth which has a strong garlic presences but to my surprise it wasn't too strong or spicy that numbs your tongue.. The noodles was springy and really goes ever so well with the broth and the pork too!! Happiness in every slurp

After spotting a snakish queue outside each time we walked by, we finally decided to try the ramen @ the Little Ramen Bar. Sadly, the ramen fell way below expectations. Pork broth was not strong and was porky, noodles tasted like cheap yellow noodles with an 'okay' Q texture, chashu was mediocre and the tamago egg yolk centre was slightly hard. Don't be fooled by the queue guys.

Spicy pickled cabbage, quite spicy and nice complement to the ramen (7/10). Sliced bamboo shoots seasoned with chilli, nice texture but had a weird fishy taste (4/10).

Hokkaido Ramen combines mixed vegetables, corn and butter and rich flavourful miso broth. Added a soft boiled egg. Enormous portions! Very nice and hearty, noodles were perfectly al dente (6.5/10).
