Locally sourced Ang kar prawns were so well grilled, the shells on the prawns slid off effortlessly! Cooked in the luscious nutty brown butter, the robust dish was brimming with umami from the shio kombu and garlic!

Generous amount of lump crab in Japanese rice with sugar peas, Nori, eggs, XO sauce and lots of tobiko for that salty crunch. Wok hei was spot on!

Special request for chef to remake this and reenact our first experience there. Blessed 😌

If there was a dish I would go back for, it would be this amazing delicious pot of Morisseau mussels (a seasonal signature, please call to enquire first on availability). Prepared in a rich broth made from garlic, chilli, tomatoes and thyme in a light while wine and tomato cream sauce, this was divine, truly divine. I would give up my mariniere or cream based mussels any day. The mussels were full of flavor and the sauce was incredibly tasty, rich but light, loaded with sea juices. The second basket of bread came in handy! The mussels were $38/400g (there was an option to go for 700g or 1kg)

Quite unbelievable that everything on the board was made in the kitchen. Can only imagine all the hours and sweat that went int there. The amazing selection came with duck rillettes, chicken liver mousse, pâté en croute, country style terrine and foie gras “mi-cuit”. Every component of the board was delicious and enjoyable, with the rillettes and the foie pâte being the top favorites for us.

This humble vegetable dish was truly amazing. Roasting cauliflower transforms it from dull to delicious with an earthy and sweet flavor. The natural sugars caramelize and produce a subtle nuttiness. The Umami rich garlic miso sauce brought out the best in the deeply browned florets, along with the sesame and furikake

Grilled pork jowl that threatened to disintegrate when consumed. Incredibly fatty, rich and flavorful! Lovely touch of sweetness to balance all that richness from the roasted carrots, carrot purée and pickled raisins.

Who would have thought a chicken dish could be such a show stopper? Loved the delicious gremolata which gave the chicken a deep, herbaceous flavor. Goes well with the spinach and maitaki mushroom!

Up close on the beef Wellington. Got to love that thick layer of duxelles and the perfectly cooked medium rare MB2+ beef tenderloin, all wrapped up in a buttery flaky crust! There is an option to add prosciutto to your Wellington. Shall try that next time 😛

Amazing dining experience at this playful and bold mod sin izakaya taking inspiration from asian local flavors. They have a pretty extensive list of small and medium plates and cocktails inspired by the origins of our 5 pillars - indian, chinese, malay and Peranakan/Eurasian. 3 of us shared 4 small plates and 3 medium plates We were impressed (mostly yes) with everything we ordered and another trip is highly necessary to try the rest of the menu!

1. Har Cheong Pork Belly [$8.90] - Thinly sliced pork belly marinated with fermented prawn paste and fried to a crisp. Comes with Kafir lime aioli. Be warned, highly addictive!

2. Tandoori Beef papadum nachos [$8.50] - crispy papadum comes with tandoori beef mince, yoghurt and cheese sauce!

3. Iberico secreto satay [$10.80] I always have a soft spot for satay, and this one is not to be missed! Very well seasoned iberico pork, comes with Javanese satay sauce and a very refreshing pineapple salsa. Bingo!

4. “Orh luak” oyster omelette spaghettini [$20] If you like oyster omelette, you should try this! Comes with juicy plump oysters, with some extra heat from the spicy dried shrimp chili.

5. “La zi Ji” popcorn chicken [$8] Another must order! The Szechuan peppercorn was extremely tantalizing on those golden brown crispy chicken thigh chunks. I’ll say this version is even better than some chinese restaurants I have been to.

6. Miso spring onion 3 cheese spring onion prata pizza [$13.80] Not the most outstanding dish of the night. I guess it’s just cheese on very crispy prata 😂

7. Aburaage Rojak salad [$12.80] Super interesting dish that takes the classic rojak to the next level! This version comes with aburaage (fried Japanese tofu), tiger prawn, jicama, mango topped with bonito flakes. The best part would have been to be the hae gor (prawn paste) ice cream with grated ginger torch flower. Love love the punchy rich prawn essence encapsulated in a creamy milky cold version. Amazing! Could eat that on its own 😋

8. Deep fried Matcha latte [$8] - deep fried matcha milk cubes, comes with whipped adzuki. Not bad!

9. Chendol [$8.50] - pandan panna cotta, house made honeycomb, gula melaka and coconut ice cream. A tad sweet though no better way to end the delicious meal.

The exterior is a light, crisp, buttery crust, glazed a deep, shiny golden brown, twinkling with crystals of sea salt. Masterfully prepared, the golden brown crust revealed a core of medium-rare, buttery-soft beef tenderloin. The decadent, creamy foie, along with the earthiness of the mushrooms added finest and a nice touch to the tenderloin. It was certainly a show stopper and the star of the night. The stall is located at a coffee shop along the bustling east coast road, helmed by Chef Jimmy (ex-chef at Wooloomooloo Steakhouse in Swissôtel) and Gerald. They have certainly eased the accessibility of gourmet food such of the Beef Wellington and redefine gastronomy for many. Noteworthy are some other menu items I would go back for such as the lamb cutlets, baby back ribs, premium rib eye, carbonara pulled pork burger and mfourm cheese burger.
