Roadside shophouse unit, spacious and airy. Just a 10min walk from Dakota MRT.

Sambal Promfet ($40): Huge, sufficient portion for the 5 of us. Fish was fresh with a nicely crisp exterior, and generously topped with this delicious sambal. Sambal was the highlight, we kept eating it with the rest of the dishes.
Crab Beehoon ($48): Decently sized whole crab, with sweet and plump flesh. Beehoon was rich and intense, but became slightly surfeiting towards the end.
Tofu w/ Crabmeat ($12): Tofu was good, and the gravy made it better with lump of crabmeat.
Sweet Potato Leaf ($10), Spinach w/ Trio Egg ($12): Nice, but not great. Had better in plenty other places.
Fried Rice ($6): Average, but portion was amazing for the price.
Homemade Prawn Roll ($10): Meaty and bursting with juices. This was nice.

Bustling atmosphere at a very quiet industrial area with mostly tourists, but as a local I can say that the food here is really top tier. They do the classic zichar dishes, but the taste is really better than what you can find in your usual neighbourhood cofeeshops. These were what we got:
- Fried meesua ($8.80 for small). Portion is unexpectedly big and really filling, enough for 2 pax to share. They also don't skimp on the ingredients, and taste was good too.
- Fuyong Egg ($10.80 for small). Basically fried egg with sliced veges within (e.g., onions, cabbages, carrots). Pretty standard but was delicious too.
- Sliced fish soup ($10.80 for small). SO SO GOOD! Their fish soup leans towards the milky side with a strong huadiao wine flavour - damn slurpable! Fresh fish slices too but the star is really the soup. MUST TRY!
- Cereal prawns ($27.80 for small). 7 pieces of large prawns submerged in cereal bits. Prawns were fresh and had a nice bounce, and the cereal bits lent a nice, sweet crunch to every bite. But felt it was too dry after a few bites and nothing really special about it. Can skip.
- Three egg spinach ($15.80 for small). Their rendition of the classic chinese dish was surprisingly delicious, with the gravy leaning towards the stickier side. This was excellent. Recommended.

Service was quick and friendly, and some of the staff are able to speak in English to cater to tourists. However, a turn-off was the multitude of birds roaming around the outdoor area, as the disposal bins were placed right beside the tables. Perhaps the location of these bins could be looked into, so that diners would not be so bothered by those pests. Otherwise, great food and still at a largely-affordable price, perfect for gatherings!

Note: Don't forget to make a reservation in advance! We just strolled right to our tables. Don't just walk-in during peak dinner period, you'll have a higher likelihood of being told to wait for 30min or more.

Stumbled upon this place at the new Parc Komo while I was searching for food around the area. Had the Butter Pork Rice ($8) with a cup of Iced Lemon Tea ($2.20). Prices are certainly steep while the quality of the food is just decent. The sambal chilli is damn good though.

Much have been said about the Moonlight Horfun (still as good) and this time round I decided to try the Wan Tan Hor instead. Similar to the moonlight Horfun except lacking in the sweet-savoury smokiness of the dark sauce. Think I'll stick to just the Moonlight next time.

Started off with the Handmade Prawn Roll ($12) and Pork Belly with Red Bean curd ($8 for small) - both were crispy and delicious. I especially couldn't get enough of the prawn roll, really recommend it 👍🏻 For greens we had the Claypot Tofu ($12 for small) and the French Beans ($10 for small). Loved the tofu especially, soft and flavourful and we couldn't get enough of the gravy! French Beans were great as well! Added on a Fried Egg with Minced Meat ($8 for small) cos we wanted to try more and it delivered too! Soft and juicy and oh so flavourful. All the dishes we had impressed and I can't believe I haven't heard more people talking about this restaurant. Ended off the meal with a complimentary Triple Dessert (from a current promotion, u.p. $6.80) and we left with our tummies full and happy. Will be back for sure!

Located in the Get Together Coffeeshop opposite ABC Brickworks, this new outlet is about 5min walk from IKEA Alexandra. Immediately went down once I heard about their opening and boy was their Moonlight Horfun ($6.30 Small) delicious as usual - smoky, savoury, and almost creamy from the raw egg yolk, this was almost a dream come true. (I was severely affected by their Foch Road branch closure). Mix in the sambal belacan and I was in heaven.

Also tried the Black Pepper Udon ($6.80 Small) and Fried Chicken Wing ($5 4pcs) and while they were good they were overshadowed by the Horfun.

Moonlight Horfun still as good as I remember it from the Jalan Besar outlet. Silky smooth, savoury with wokhei, creamy from the egg yolk, what more can I say. YUM!!
Baby octopus was also perfectly tender with a slight crunch, and paired so well with the sauce and fried garlic bits. Another must-order for future visits.
Fried Beehoon was comparatively lacklustre with the Moonlight Horfun on the same table.

Chaota Beehoon ($10.80) - full of flavour and delightfully crispy at the edges, this was a great with the accompanying chilli. Though my dad preferred JB Ah Meng's version.
White Mee Sue ($6.80) - chock full of fish slices, minced pork, and even small shrimps, we couldn't stop slurping up this bowl of goodness. Highly recommended!
Qing Long Chye ($13.80) - it was alright, slightly more expensive than our usual order of Kang Kong or sweet potato leaves.
Prawn Cracker ($13.80) - crispy and filled with minced prawn, dip it in the accompanying mayo for a good bite to whet your appetite. Can get slightly heavy towards the end though, so best to share this with 4 pax.

Always visit this place whenever I have frog legs cravings. My standard order is always the Gong Bao frog legs, porridge, and the string beans. never fails to satisfy. their Yang Zhou fried rice is also preddy darn good.

Dishes I didn't like: special homemade chilli frogs (sauce is just chilli crab sauce), BBQ chilli frog (more petai beans and onions than the measly amount of squid)

Ugly cabbage was fantastic; wok hey was accentuated by the fish sauce zhup. Prawns in chilli crab sauce was decent - prawns were plump but not very fresh. Expected more out of the Ter Kah Beehoon flavour-wise, but it was chock full of ter Kah. Ended the meal with the popiah garden which was had interesting local flavours, but I didn't feel like they hit the mark. Might come back to try the other dishes! The free parking between 6-10pm certainly helps as well.

If you come here, you GOT to have the San Lou Beehoon ($11 for Medium) - it might look simple but it packs in soooo much flavour. As for sides, we decided to get the Di San Xian (Eggplant, potatoes, and red/green peppers, $12 for Small) and the Fried Garlic Chilli Clams ($16 for Small). Both were delicious as well, especially the garlic Chilli sauce of the Lala. The eggplant in the Di San Xian came deep fried, which was kínda unique but added texture to the dish. Still, preferred the Dragon Vege we had the previous time we came over the Di San Xian!

Adventurous and always looking for new flavours on my tongue!
