[HELSINKI, FINLAND] Cinnamon rolls 🥐 seems to be a staple here in almost every cafe in Helsinki, and I'm glad that I've had a good one at this grand outlet of Robert's Coffee. It was soft and fluffy, with a prominent but not overpowering cinnamon flavour and not too sweet as well. The sugar pieces on top added an extra crunchy texture. This is perfect with a hot cup of latte in the cold autumn weather.
Extra compliments would be given to how grand their cafe looks like. What a vibe really!
[HELSINKI, FINLAND] Finally tried some Finnish food! Loyly restaurant is conveniently located beside their sauna, which is a very smart move as sweating in the heated rooms does make you hungry 😂
The Sauteed Reindeer 🦌 (29 euros) was comforting plate. Minced reindeer was on a bed of mash with some sort of meat broth and that was lovely especially when the weather is cold outside. Potatoes here are somehow much more flavourful as compared to the ones we have in Singapore 😂 the reindeer itself may be slightly tough, but they have some gaminess that reminds me abit of lamb. The lingonberry was perfect with the meat as it cuts the gaminess and makes the dish less surfeiting with its sour flavour.
The Salmon Soup 🍲 (23 euros) is a staple here in Finland. The soup was slightly creamy and well seasoned with dill, which goes perfectly with the salmon given. Loads of salmon and potatoes were given and they were all very fresh. This is one comforting and refreshing soup that calls for bread!
With a view of the ocean, you can come here for a sauna, a meal and of course a beer. Had a lovely evening spent here!
[HELSINKI, FINLAND] Finally a new overseas series! Among the many cafes in the heart of Helsinki city centre, Andante really stood out to me with their good food, vibes and service 😍
The Iced Latte (5.70 euros) may not be a very strong roast, but the flavour was very smooth and with strong chocolate notes. Due to the large ice cube, it does not melt fast and the coffee stayed rather flavourful for some time.
Their Brownie with Coffee Cream (6.70 euros) was such a lovely dessert to share. The brownie itself was very rich and chocolatey. Top that with their coffee cream and you get a decadent mocha like flavour which was very satisfying!
Definitely a cafe to visit when you come to Helsinki!
