Visited at lunchtime with high expectations. However, was kinda disappointed!

✔️ a lot of ingredients inside (fish & vegetables)
✖️ soup and noodle proportion is off - too little soup with too much noodle (this is upon collection, not after eating for some time)
✖️soup is pretty bland, not very flavorful/tasty
✖️ waiting time is so long, even at 1130!

Overall, for the portion, it is value for money. However, the dish overall is not that yummy!

Still the best Claypot rice in SG after trying some other popular ones too! Generous with ingredients and most aromatic (with that Claypot scent??)! We got the 4pax one for takeaway at $27. Must eat!! Have seen some reviews that service isn’t that good, but so far haven’t experienced that as I always reach early to try and avoid crowds.

I find that standard has dropped since I tried a few months back. Ordered the tomyum fried rice to try and can’t really taste any tomyum flavor. Disappointing, not what I remembered from my first purchase here last time.

Tried the Chai Poh chee cheong fan ($3.50), which was so good!
✔️ Chee cheong fan is freshly made upon order
✔️Super thin CCF
✔️Generous with fillings - 2 big scoops of chai poh for each plate
Recommend!!!

Ordered the chicken cutlet set + brinjal ($4.20). Not bad nasi lemak and affordable! They use basmati rice which adds a nice fluffy texture to the dish and goes well with the sambal!

Honestly don’t know why there is a queue and pretty good ratings here. Decided to give this a try as there was a queue and the food looked good! Unfortunately, was really disappointed and didn’t finish the dish.

Firstly, the noodles looked dark (and hence thought it would be flavorful) but the sauce was so bland and tasteless. And it’s not just me, I had two others eating with me and we all felt the same.

Secondly, wantons were average, nothing amazing.

Third, add on of wanton skin (not in the picture) was so meh. Not the thin crisp kind. Kind of difficult to bite for and painful on the gums.

Only good thing is portion is not bad.

Disappointing… don’t recommend to try and will not revisit. Don’t do what we did (Singaporean style of joining the queue because that means it must be good) 😅

Good chicken rice in the area!!

They only have one type of chicken (white, boneless), and 2 sizes of chicken rice ($3/$4 plate). There was a short queue so I decided to try out.

Fragrant rice & gravy, with affordable price! The rice was on the flavorful side, and chicken gravy savory! Portions are really good for the price too.

Recommend to try if you’re in the area!

Food is so good! We ordered the white carrot cake ($3.50), but no Chilli as my group had someone who can’t take spicy! There’s only one uncle running the store and he cooks plate by plate upon ordering so you gotta wait! Apparently, the carrot cake is homemade too. Texture is good, and flavor of the dish was fragrant! The carrot cake dish is not too wet (like many stores), and he fried it such that there were many crisp portions (& wok hey flavor). Wished that I could have tried the version with Chilli as white carrot cake without Chilli isn’t exactly complete (IMO)! I will revisit again and try again next time!

Food is so good! We ordered both the black carrot cake ($3.50)! There’s only one uncle running the store and he cooks plate by plate upon ordering so you gotta wait! Apparently, the carrot cake is homemade too. Texture is good, and flavor of the dish was so fragrant! The carrot cake dish is not too wet (like many stores), and he fried it such that there were many crisp portions (& wok hey flavor). It was cooked with just the right amount of black sauce so it’s not overly sweet too. Love! I will revisit again and try other dishes too!

Dabaoed this for a lunch! There’s always a long queue at this store, and recommended by neighbours too!

✔️ Long queue but moves fast
✔️ More special ingredients than regular nasi lemak store - stir fried long beans, brinjal, etc; the otah is also freshly made and grilled at the store; first time seeing fried boneless chicken thigh which was nice
✔️ Affordable prices
✖️ Rice was lighter in taste with lesser coconut fragrance. Personally, I prefer stronger coconut taste

Overall, still a decent meal. The dishes here are good! Just prefer rice to be more flavorful because it’s still the essence of a Nasi Lemak dish for me!

Ordered meatball porridge for takeaway during lunchtime! Each bowl is cooked individually upon order. Taste is not bad and inexpensive too! Seems to be a queue normally so I went early!

My rating: 4/5
(Minus 1 as I prefer stronger taste in my porridge base itself. This one was pretty good though, I think it would be suitable for general public taste)
