Bubble Tea

Always curious to try new bubble tea. This one unexpectedly appeared at my desk in office as my colleagues had bought some for me without warning 😂

The White Peach Oolong Latte ($7.10, Large) sounds conceptually amazing, thought on the pricey side..... Except there apparently is one issue that is major to me (personal preference) - they apparently don't serve pearls? I never drink bubble tea without pearls. Lol.

Of course, I haven't validated this as this wasn't my own purchase. But if that were true... Perhaps I'd try this again if the tea itself was amazing?

But that too wasn't to my usual taste preferences. The taste of milk was overpowering compared to any taste of oolong. I prefer to taste a strong presence of tea in my drink, & I find that few bubble tea places deliver on this.

Appreciated the kind gift, but I don't think there's a strong push factor for me to return & try the rest of their drinks.

Unfortunately, here's another non-aesthetic photo... Even more so because the cup is opaque & you can't see through it 😂 But hear me out!

I ordered the Golden Oolong Tea with Lime ($5.90 nett) with less ice (doesn't cost additional) & added Taro Balls (+$1 nett). Had my usual 0% sugar level - which made the lime taste even more distinctly sour. I didn't mind that (I love sour drinks), but as a result I couldn't really taste anything Oolongy, which apparently is their specialty.

Maybe this wasn't the best combination to order. Coupled with the fact that the only option for pearls is taro balls (no regular tapioca/konjac/etc pearls)... That was an odd pairing. But it's my habit to never drink bubble tea without pearls!
