[QUEENSTOWN, SINGAPORE] If you are looking for coffee just after a great feast at Alexandra Village Hawker Centre, you now know where to go! @rookies.coffee is a humble coffee shop nestled within the bustling neighbourhood and they serve up great quality coffee 😍
I got their Iced Black ($6) which was very fruity, so much so that I thought I was drinking fruit juice! It was very smooth as well and totally refreshing!
There aren't many seats around, so do take note if you are coming with a big group. I do love the cute stickers and posters around the place which added to the chill vibe 😍 (P.S.... they have other interesting coffee drinks as well which I wanna try out next time!)
[MOUNTBATTEN, SINGAPORE] With a huge selection of seasonal beans, @vernacularcoffee is one cafe to visit if you love your coffee.
Situated within the Singapore Badminton Hall, we were greeted with a very delicious coffee aroma upon entering. With a huge selection of beans of different origins, we were spoilt for choice and had a hard time choosing the flavour profile we wanted.
I settled with some Vietnamese Robusta beans for my Iced White ($6.50) which were incredibly chocolatey, perfect with the milk used. It wasn't sharp and was very well rounded. The Indonesian arabica beans were so very interesting, as it was nutty with a very nice fruity apricot aroma aftertaste which I've not experienced before!
Definitely coming back here for more next time!!
[BRAS BERSAH, SINGAPORE] My only question: why haven't I tried this earlier??? The coffee here was really amazing 😍
We had their Iced Latte ☕ ($7) and Signature Dirty ☕ ($7.50) and both were really good. The Iced Latte was so fragrant, and the dark roast flavours of the coffee came through so strongly. The chocolate and nutty notes were so lovely! This was definitely a very enjoyable cup. The Signature Dirty was also very fragrant and strong, and had such an interesting flavour! It was definitely sweetened by some syrup as well.
The Red Tea Chestnut Pound Cake 🍰 ($5.50) was also delicious, with grounded chestnut flavour coming through strongly. The red tea flavour came in after, making this cake even more aromatic! Really does give the autumn vibes. However, I do find it abit too sweet.
So coming back here again for their coffee and desserts 😍
[TANJONG PAGAR, SINGAPORE] Finally ticked this cafe @butter_tgt off my list and it was pretty impressive! Food and drinks ordered were all pretty good 😍
Let's start off with their drinks! The Iced Latte ☕ ($7) was such a joy to have, as it was creamy, thick, rich and so full of chocolate and nutty notes which I love! It was also a smooth blend that went down my throat easily. The Lemon Eispanner ☕ ($9) was quite expensive, but it was still a good drink, with a much lighter blend. To be honest I think the aromatic lemon syrup might have overpowered the coffee, but it was still a good option if you don't like strong coffees! Definitely a light refreshing drink to have.
I couldn't leave their place without trying their Madeleine 🥐 ($7.50 for 3) and indeed it was a wonderful bake. They were smart to make it a made-to- order item, as the crispy buttery crust was so heavenly. It wasn't too sweet either and complemented the strong Iced Latte so well. Such a great mouth feel and flavour!
Definitely recommended for those who haven't tried! Worthy of a 2nd visit as well 😍
Once again, I've heard about the raving reviews here at @bigshortcoffee and they definitely satisfied my coffee cravings and warmed my heart 😍 This is another hit on my to-go list!
Big Short Coffee not only serves up the usual coffee variations, they also create seasonal coffee and non-coffee concoctions that were really delicious. My favourite among the 4 we have tried was definitely the Mont Blanc ($8), as it was an eispanner but lighter. You get the citrus flavours complementing the light fruity flavour of the coffee. The vanilla cream was light, which makes this really refreshing!
Their Big Short Blend was a strong one, as the Warabi Mochi ($8.50) showcased the flavours well. It was rich and aromatic, full of chocolate notes. With the Warabi Mochi at the bottom and the cream on top, this drink feels like bubble tea but with coffee. So interesting! I can already imagine their latte being a good cuppa.
With their seasonal menu, I'm definitely coming back again to try other variations. This makes coffee sipping such a fun and enjoyable process!
Thank you @bigshortcoffee for the drinks and @eatwithkeat for the invite!
A new cafe at One-North! Little Glass from @glassroasters offers a small intimate space with speciality matcha and coffee drinks. Their Iced Latte ($6.80) was definitely bold in flavour, but their beans seem to be of a lighter roast with a fruity finish. Such beans I believe would work better without milk! Their latte seem to taste much more chocolate-y and nutty at their Tiong Bahru outlet!
Unfortunately I did not have a taste of my friend's Iced Matcha drink, but they do have a variety to choose from 😍 it seems like it's incredibly rich and umami! Will try another day hehe
Another coffee/matcha option for the working crowd nearby 😃
You know your coffee is going to be good when the colour of the extracted bean juice is so inviting 😍
We chanced upon @pyroast while we were here at Science Park and left satisfied with good coffee 😍 I had a cup of Iced Latte ($6) which had just the right amount of milk. It was very rich, with hints of chocolate notes, nutty flavours and fruity notes as well. You can classify this as quite an intensive cup of coffee you would like to sip!
The Dirty Genmaicha ($7) was uncommon and very interesting, as the coffee flavour was still prominent while the nutty earthy genmaicha flavour comes in towards the back. I actually prefer this to dirty matcha, as the combination of flavours is much smoother and well-rounded.
The cafe interior was quite aesthetic as well, perfect for a chill out after lunch if you do work around the area. Will be back!
So glad to have tried @nickel.sg recently, as their coffee and matcha drinks were simply fantastic 😍 to add on to that, their cafe is also really aesthetic!
The Iced Latte ($7) was a very smooth cup, and it was rich and aromatic. Chocolate and nutty notes were strong, and the milk amount was just nice. Definitely a wonderful blend that is worth sipping!
The Dirty Matcha ($8) was also a flavourful cup. The matcha powder used was of a high quality and hence it was intense and aromatic. The matcha itself was very nutty, almost to the point that it tastes slightly savoury. I actually like this kind of intense matcha and hence it worked out well for me! The Matcha was hand-wisked as well, so it was really smooth 😍 It did overpower the coffee notes quite a bit so maybe it's better to just order the Iced Matcha Latte instead!
Loved the touch of mini Madeleines as well. It was crispy and buttery, perfect with the drinks we got.
Definitely an aesthetic cafe that you should come try! Their desserts look good too!
Tried the popular @junecoffeesg recently and honestly based on the drinks we've had, we feel like it's overhyped 😅
The Iced Black Sesame Latte ($8) had a savoury black sesame cream that was fragrant at the start, but as you drink the coffee, the taste of the black sesame gets more and more subtle somehow. Coffee itself was decent, aromatic but nothing much to shout out about.
The Jasmine & Green Grape ($7.50) unfortunately fell short of expectations as the grapes used were sour and the flavour combination of the jasmine tea and sour grapes did not work out for us!
We queued for at least an hour as we had 4 people; they did not have many big tables so please take note! Just feel like you can get similar standards somewhere else without the queues...
If you are looking for good coffee in Novena, @love.joy.coffee got you your cuppa! Located near the food court in Velocity, we had great cups of coffee there that left our hearts full and belly satisfied.
Their Petit White ($4.50) was a small cup of single shot hot latte that was just so smooth and rich. The aromatic scent of the coffee was very inviting, and it had the right hazelnut and chocolate notes. Their Iced Latte ($6) was also a great refreshing cup, with just the right amount of strength and milk within. This is one cup I can sip away slowly definitely!
Can't wait to be back for another cup 😍
If you are looking for solid coffee in an aesthetic environment, look no further as @alchemist.sg had done it right. They have repurposed the old Khong Guan factory as their cafe, giving it a good mix of both retro and modern vibes!
I ordered the Iced Latte ($7) and it was such an enjoyable cup. It was not too acidic, yet strong enough with deep hazelnut and chocolate notes. It had the perfect amount of milk for the strength of coffee. I loved that it was smooth and rich, perfectly for a long sip throughout the afternoon.
If I'm around the area, I'm definitely coming back to Alchemist for a good coffee break!
With high ratings on Google, I felt like I needed to try @anhonestcup's coffee and I'm glad that I left happy without any regrets 😍
Their Iced Latte ($5.50) was an incredibly smooth cup. The coffee itself isn't sharp, but rather mellow yet rich. Nutty chocolate notes were observed and it had just the right amount of milk to pair the espresso shots! Felt like this was quite an affordable cup as well, especially when there's 10% off for healthcare and home team officers.
The ambience of the cafe was very cosy as well, though seating space can be quite limited. Definitely will be back to try their dirty!
