For me, what makes auntie peng the original is because they brought back my favorite strawberry swiss roll!!!!! It disappear from the menu when i was in primary school and always check in to ask Dona Manis then when they will bring it back 🥲 now it appeared at Auntie Peng❤️ still the sweet artificial taste (but i like haha!) 🤭👅 with soft fluffy sponge cake - it took a different shape but it’s that same familiar taste❤️
✨I vote for Auntie Peng Banana Pie as the original katong shopping centre’s banana pie☺️❤️ I eaten the banana pie since young ☺️ will not mistake this for anything else✨ the bit overripe bananas, crunchy nuts and coconut finishing inside is just one of a kind💯
The lamination of the Pain Suisse ($7) is 👌👌👌
Absolutely prefer this over dearborn upstairs for similar price point ✨ different concept but Atipico execution of french pastries 🥐 is worth every penny!✨ especially their classic cakes which you can’t find anywhere else! … French kiss ($13) is a pistachio lover must try! rich pistachio base with raspberry filling and pistachio coating ✨
I love the Gateau St Honore ($13) the almond creme is a classic well done paired with caramelised choux 👌 I would love to try their other brunch items next time too but definitely got to save up 😂 as the price wise is still not cheap of course but for a special occasion or a treat self weekend is worth checking out before the hype gets crazy!🤣
✨black truffle - works really well somehow, aromatic truffle with the buttery cake👍
🍅Scallion Cream Cheese & Sun dried tomato - was skeptical but wow even though having it cold, it’s like a cold italian tapas 💯
🍚 Black sesame Mochi - both of the popular flavors combined! rich nutty sesame with chewy mochi bits✨
🌰 Pistachio Raspberry - for pistachio lovers! thick!
🍵 Matcha - all time favorite! the matcha is rich and of quality, still as good as years ago👍
🍫 Valrhona Chocolate - first time trying their classic and surprisingly it’s a favorite of the lot too! it’s like having a mini awfully chocolate cake👌
…
❤️always a great gift for any occasion❤️
💯 Honey Thyme focaccia ($6.50) was a thick chunk which surprised me with the touch of chilli oil on top that somehow works! An interesting twist of sweet and spicy to the fluffy bread 🥖

💡: There are pets and kids around because of the open lawn right outside the bakery with open seating and daylight💯 It’s an improved location choice from their Phoenix Park days in 2022👌 Will be back maybe as a once every 2-3 months kinda bakery brunch before a museum date!😉 #dateidea
check out @flourish.bakehouse located at SMU right above bras basah MRT! super convenient!
✨ Sweet apple Galette brings you to a european home 🏠 where this crumbly galette just came out of the oven with fresh caramelised apples from the garden (imaginary)🍎 but wow doesn’t feel like im in a local bakery!

not the easiest place to get to but feels like a breath of fresh air away from the hustle of life😊 worth get a whole loot of bakes (not sure when will be back 😂)
…
🌟 pain au chocolat ($6)
Perfectly executed!
⭐️ Classic croissant ($4)
kudos to the Butter, can taste the richness of it and generously used, however will love it more if the layering is thinner
⭐️smoked yuzu donut ($6)
Had high expectations for this as burnt ends is famous for the smoked meat after all and yes it tastes like smoked meat 😶 which kinda overwrote the yuzu flavor - was very confused if its savory or sweet 😅
🌟 cheese & garlic scone ($3)
For the savory lovers!
🌟 cranberry earl grey scone ($3)
Favorite of the 2 scone flavors for me!
🌟 sea salt dark chocolate cookie (bake of the day)
🌟poached red wine pear danish (bake of the day)

overall, i’m quite happy that it’s not priced ridiculously like another bakery in orchard🙃though it’s a branch off from the michelin award-winning @burntends.sg restaurant ‼️ There is open seating outside for breakfast takeaways which is great 👍 don’t mind coming back for more for another wkend or PH local escape ✌️
Signature egg tart ($5.50) - crispy outside with nice light custard inside - personally will prefer a stronger caramelised flavor in the egg custard but overrall it’s as satisfying as hong kong egg tart and the lighter flavor makes it less sinful 🤪
…
Single Origin Pain Au Chocolat ($6) is a seasonal special using 🇹🇭 chocolate which has one of the most interesting taste of chocolate, no sweetness but a bitter sour with fruity note!✨ worth getting for an interesting artisanal chocolate taste 👍 best of all it’s so pretty!!!! love the crunchy layers on top 💯
…
Truffle Taleggio Fold ($6.50) is for mushroom lovers! the truffle is more subtle than i thought, prefer bit more filling😛
…
Princess Amann ($5.5) is a twist to the kouign amann but bit too thick to be flaky but good amount of sugar coat for the satisfactory chewy sweetness.
…
Overall, top two is my 💯 favorite and worth the hype!😋 Price wise still reasonable as well👍

Food —— Randomly walked past and saw this new shop and spotted their signature French Strawberry Cake with Genoise Sponge filled with Crème Mousseline & topped with Fresh Strawberries 🍓 which is too pretty too eat! Not the cheapest at $9, but look at the details and fresh strawberry inside 🥰 a worthy indulgence 😋 They also have japanese-style soy puddings and mochis 😊 sold out of their osmanthus which i will love to try next ‼️
Service —— A+ for packaging, for $9 takeaway no additional and given a cooler bag 😮
💡 Even though no discounts or set prices, the bakes are very reasonably priced for the quality and size!👍
📍: 350 Joo Chiat Rd, Singapore 427598
💰 : ~$10-20
⭐️ : 3.5/5

Food —— Tried their new Apple Chai Danish and Otah Danish which are both well-sized for sharing 👍 For the price starting from $4.5 for plain croissant to $6.5 ish for specials, i will say their bakes are more worth it for an afternoon tea break than cakes 😉❤️ Splurged on the seasonal cold infused tea ($7) and wowwww it’s really refreshing and always a unique blend done in-house✨

don’t mind a revisit when in the mood again, definitely know it won’t disappoint🥰
