jap 🍱🍜🍣
opted for the spicy version but the spice was alot milder than expected. the broth was rich and flavourful, v decent for the price!! the noodles also remained springy despite being soaked in the broth for some time 👍🏻 ajitama was done well while the chashu was on the fattier side which wasn’t to my liking.
amazed by how good this was, especially for the price point!!! noodles were springy and held the savoury umami sauce really well. truffle flavour was also sufficiently distinct 👌🏻 they didn’t skimp on the ingredients either. there was a good portion of tender pork belly cubes though i personally found them too fatty. the black fungus literally had no taste lol but i guess it helped cut through the rich savoury flavours. overall a really decent bowl of ramen that i’d defo be back for!!
unexpectedly preferred this over my usual order, their assorted bara chirashi don. but then again, i’m biased towards anything with mentaiko so 🙂 the salmon was just lightly aburi-ed and it had a decent amount of mentaiko, which was creamy without being too overpowering.
one of their bestsellers and for good reason!! the combination of the tender beef slices, runny onsen egg simmered in a warm flavourful broth 🤤 and not forgetting their smooth qq udon noodles!!! has just the right amount of chewiness 👍🏻 the broth was sweet and savoury but veering towards the salty side so i wouldn’t drink too much of it :”)
one of their bestsellers!! rly enjoyed the firm springy texture of their soba 👍🏻 it was good as i had expected, knowing they specialise in soba, but their tempura was a surprising standout 🤩 ticked all the boxes of a good tempura — thinly battered, crispy and light without any greasy aftertaste 🍤 i’d go as far as to say that it’s better than most tendon chains.
as a mentaiko lover, i didn’t hesitate to order this! the savouriness of the creamy torched mentaiko went very well with the sweet tamago. sashimi chunks were also super fresh and good as expected. can’t wait to be back for more!!!
no wonder everyone raves about omote bc their chirashi is def the best i’ve had in sg. the sashimi cubes were so fresh and juicy!!! 🤩 and they are really generous with it. also topped up for the premium set (+$8) which is only available during lunch. it comes with chawanmushi, mentaiyaki gyoza, salmon sashimi, jap salad, hot & cold appetizer and miso soup. my favs were the gyoza and chawanmushi!
didn’t need the extra carbs but my friend raved about this so i had to try!! it’s a small portion of rice topped with decadent pork slices and a raw egg yolk. the pork was v well-seasoned and tgt w the creaminess of the egg yolk, this was truly a bowl of goodness 😮💨
was worried that the broth would taste fishy due to the sardine but it wasn’t at all!! it was rich with strong bonito flavours and had pieces of charred char siew, which were tender and added to the smokiness! also the NOODLES. thick, chewy and suuuper springy 😚👌🏻 they weren’t kidding about the 1.5x portion tho, i had trouble finishing the mountain of noodles on my own
SO GOOD. have tried marutama’s chicken broth ramen too and in comparison, tori king’s broth is richer and more to my palate 😛 super creamy and flavourful, yet not overly so. honestly damn slurp-worthy!!! best part was the huge whole chicken thigh — sooo tender that the meat fell off with a slight tug of the chopsticks 🤩
got the regular size! bowl looked quite small but the portion is actually filling enough. the sashimi was fairly fresh but i wasn’t a fan of the rice was a lil gooey and doused in sauce :-( decent enough for a quick meal but at similar price points, i’ve definitely had better elsewhere
one word: UNDERRATED. japanese curry tasted pretty standard but paired well with the star of the show — the katsu 🌟 deep fried to golden brown, the exterior was crispy while the interior remained super tender and juicy 👌🏻👌🏻 heard their standards can be inconsistent but it definitely impresses on a good day 🤪
