Boiling hot soup with half a fish and rice - just nice for this rainy day. Asked for less oil and salt which they accommodated.
Mildly spicy (probably bc less oil), warm and delicious.
I would order the tail part next time as it's more fish and less bones.
Love this place, their tofu is fresh and their banchan while small is delicious.
PSA: currently understaffed. Perhaps better to avoid for the moment unless prepared to wait a loooooong while to be shown to the table, provided banchan, and served food.
We ordered a samgyeupsal, scrambled egg with rice, beef kalbi (upsized) and a seafood pancake. Surprisingly delicious and very value for money. Didn't expect the servings to be so massive.
The pork belly was properly crispy. The beef galbi slightly chewy. The seafood pancake satisfied my cravings, with a decent amount of shrimp, squid and green onion.
Banchan is refillable. The kimchi is fresh and tart, marinated seaweed slightly salty (good with white rice) and the radish pickles were sweet and crunchy. I didn't get to try the corn in cream/mayo - my husband ate it all almost immediately after it lands on the table.
Would definitely return, perhaps on a day when there is the queue is shorter. To be fair, queue moves fast for there is a 45 min limit for eating.
Delicious wagyu don - I skipped the foie.
Satisfying lunch. Have tried their beef and chirashi options as well. All good.
Delicious with their spicy, tart, and sweet chili.
Dinner at the Kitchen Table. Pizza was great (we had the one with parma ham and rocket); the classic burger was nice. Prawns are alright; polenta is ok. Moreish fried calamari and penne alfredo. House bread basket is nice; excellent butter.
Came with the hotel stay. We tried many dishes. Crab cakes with poached egg (no hollandaise) was ok; eggs poached beautifully. Sausages (pork & lamb) were ok. Bacon was ok. Nasi lemak was good. Sliced fruit (not in photo) were nice. Juices were ok; orange and watermelon are fresh. Coffee unremarkable, tea is from TWG. Pastry: croissant & vanilla swirl were ok.
Pls avoid the chinese breakfast options - the congee, either plain or chicken, was pasty and tasteless despite the pretty garnishes on top. This is definitely not Cantonese or Teochew or Taiwanese style congee. Skip the siumai too. To be honest, steamed 7-11 siumai tastes better than what we had this morning. The hargow skin was very thick and pasty, and the shrimp was not bouncy and likely overcooked.
Meatsmith is a buzzy spot in Telok Ayer. Delicious brisket and pork belly. May have to wait half an hour even with reservations.
