Waited 3 months for the pork satay from Tiong Bahru Satay Man and it was definitely worth the wait. The charcoal grilled satay was crisp on the outside. 1 layer of fat was put between 2 layers of meat and the fat was so good. What made the satay truly amazing was the satay sauce with pineapple puree. The pineapple provided the acidity to balance the meatiness and fat.
The pasta from the cafe was quite good too.
Current waitlist is 4 months for weekday and 10 months for weekend!
Overall, this is a great plate of wonton mee. The highlight was the char siew which was caramelised on the outside and tender. The dark soy sauce was satisfying though the noodle was not springy enough. Wonton was sweet and the soup is good too. $3.50 is cheap for such a big portion
Located within an industrial estate, but there was still a 30 mins queue on Saturday. A really good bowl of wonton mee that got the different components right. This is the malaysia style wonton mee that uses more soy sauce.
Char siew was simply outstanding - crispy on the outside yet tender and moist. The meat to fat ratio was perfect. Will certainly order a plate of char siew ($12) next time.
Noodle was springy though not al dente. Soup was very rich and tasty. Wonton was fresh and contains chestnut. Definitely one of the top few wonton mees in SG
Quite a good plate of satay bee hoon for only $4. Satay sauce was fragrant and delicious. Ingredients such as cuttlefish, bean curd and pork liver was big and soft.
The carrot cake is very soft. Although not cripsy, the radish can melt in your mouth
Rather unique carrot cake that tastes more like egg pancake because it is so crispy. I quite like it though it can be a little oily. Waiting time is long but you can order 1st ans come back later.
Not a long queue, but you have to wait for close to an hour as the chef fries it plate by plate. One of the most flavourful char kway teow with an hint of wok hei. They have temporarily relocated to Chinatown Complex for the next few months.
Love the creamy and rich laksa soup. Not as spicy but with strong coconut flavour. One of my favourite laksa place
A surprise find while trying out Hokkien Man Hokkien Mee. This is a bowl of wanton mee that got everything right. I prefer egg noodle over mee kia, but this noodle has a great texture that is springy and chewy. Char siew is tender and fried wanton is crispy. The boiled wanton is delicious too
Queued for 45 mins at 11am. A well balanced and flavourful plate of ckt. Does not feel jelak after finishing the whole dish. Fresh cockles are used which taste much better than those commonly found in other ckt. Only disappointment is that there is no wok hei
This coffee pork rib is absolutely the best that I have ever had. It has an intense coffee aroma that explodes into your mouth when you bite it.
The other dishes are pretty well done too. The vege was spammed with ikan bilis. Taste was good for the beehoon and ngoh hiang.
I love this claypot rice which is flavourful as salted fish is added. The chicken is well marinated and moist. Prefer this to Lian He Ben Ji. Do call in to reserve to skip the long queue
