Yong Tau Foo

Aunty let me try the dry version today. I usually order in soup but the weather was too warm today! She told me it comes with a separate bowl of soup but I didn’t expect the bowl to be so large😅 I’m not complaining though because the soup has no msg and is filled generously with soybeans and spring onions. You can customise your dry order with sweet sauce or chilli sauce.

The aunty of the stall is such a dear! She is so very smiley and friendly to all her customers ◡̈

What I love so much about this Yong Tau Foo is that the soup isn’t made with MSG (there’s a sign at the stall that confirms this). The soup doesn’t leave me feeling thirsty. It’s light and flavourful with a generous helping of spring onions, fried shallots and yellow beans. The ingredients are quite basic, nothing special but the store offers chee cheong fun and Hakka abacus seeds for you to choose as an alternative to rice or noodles.
