Specialty Cafes
I haven't really had pancakes since Strictly Pancakes closed. The Pumpkin Pancake with poached eggs, smoked salmon, hollandaise and tobiko roe was truly a fluffy and savoury delight. I don't really like pumpkins to begin with but what this cafe has worked some magic here.
My friend created her own plate with scrambled eggs, halloumi cheese and sautéed mushrooms. The portions are sufficiently generous and the halloumi cheese was a highlight. I didn't know that fried cheese would taste good by itself.
I usually avoid soft-serve ice-cream but would pick this coffee softcream over gelato.
The Wafu pasta was topped generously with really large prawns.
The coffee-flavoured Shiro Kuma (shaved ice) was paired with ice-cream and fruits. The coffee sauce really stole the show.
The Obihiro Butadon tastes as good as it looks.
It's quite mandatory to make a reservation before going to the cafe given the high demand. The cafe is spacious and the cats are well—looked after. Most of the cats were napping when we visited so we didn't get to do more than petting them. $16 gives you 2 h in the cafe and a canned drink. You can also choose to top up to get an artsianal tea or coffee. E.g. This hot chocolate that was both smooth and cute.
