Masizzim remains one of 313@Somerset's most bustling restaurants, and their Korean food says it all. A hot favourite are the DIY rice balls, which come in flavours like crabmeat roe and tuna, as well as the crispy (and sometimes cheesy) kimchi pancakes. Burppler Doreen T says it's "my to go place for Korean stews, especially on a cold rainy day. Spicy, addictive and filling!" She also suggests ordering the Tuna Rice Ball ($8) to go with your stew.

You can be assured of a hearty meal when you dine at Woorinara. Burppler Ade Tan says this place is a win from just the side dishes alone, with an "amazing variety of sausages, beancurd skin, kimchi tofu, omelette, coleslaw salad, potato salad, kimchi, and spinach." Burppler Wenyi Loh loves the Cold Kimchi Noodle ($15), which is great for whetting the appetite. "Sour and savoury, what more can I say!"

SBCD Korean Tofu House is one of the few soft tofu speciality restaurants in Singapore, and also serves a variety of hearty Korean fare like Spicy Baby Octopus, L.A. Galbi, and Nurungji Bap. Burppler Pearlyn Chua says this is her favourite place for sundubu. "Their tofu is made in-house daily and is so soft. The closest that I can find to my favourite one in Jeju."

No prizes for guessing what this place specialies in. Burppler Chloe Tan says this is where you'll find "one of the better jjajangmyeons in Singapore! A super satisfying meal, stuffed us (family of 4) silly!" Burppler Regina Shao, who ordered the basic Jjajangmyeon ($10) likes the value for money combo for two - "The noodle is chewy, black bean sauce is well-flavoured with a touch of sweet as well."

Joo Bar is a sleek and inviting venue inside a heritage three-storey shophouse along the historic Quee Lan Street. Although it's technically a bar, their modern Korean bites are top notch with things like tender Grilled Pork Belly ($26) and the Seafood Rapokki ($22), a rich spicy stew of ramyeon, rice cake, shrimp, mussels, and Korean fishcake blanketed in melted mozarella. Burppler C A had his first makgeolli experience here, "great ambience, food and of course makgeolli!"

This little family-style restaurant tucked in the corner of Bukit Timah Plaza is a treasure trove full of homely Korean favourites. The Jajangmyeon is a hot pick here, and can feed up to even three hungry adults. Burppler Wei Zhi Chiang says this place opens at 6pm and fills up almost immediately, so make sure to come early!

The food here may not be fancy, but it's clearly prepared with heart. Start off with the Suyuk Boiled Pork Belly served with vegetables and sauces, you'll be taught how to eat it three different ways. Burppler Zoey Belle Wannabe recommends going for the Dakgalbi ($36), spicy marinated chicken with vegetables and Korean rice cakes. "What's best is that after you finish half, you can request for the staff to turn it into a fried rice." Because of limited seating, be sure to make reservations!

Hidden amongst the stretch of eateries along Katong, you might miss Doong Ji if you don't look out for it. Offering really affordable set lunches, consider this a good lunch option if you're in the area. The food here is authentic and generous. The Army Stew ($39.90) is robust and spicy, packed with luncheon meat, ramyeon, ddeokbokki, hotdogs, and kimchi, good for sharing between three to four people. Also get the Seafood Pancake ($17), which Burppler timtam_tum thinks is "one of the better Korean pancakes around definitely."

As Burppler MichelleLIN T puts it, a steaming hot kimchi tofu stew is the best reward for a rambling tummy after a long day. "I like the no frills atmosphere at Kim Dae Mun, and what you see is really what you get." Don't dismiss this humble eatery in Concord Hotel - it dishes out superb dishes like Kimchi Fried Rice, Bulgogi and Korean Rice Cakes. Go for the Spicy Chicken Soup Set, a fiery red soup filled with loads of ingredients and sweet potato noodles. Complete the meal by sharing a potato pancake!

Hailed as one of the best places for Korean Fried Chicken (KFC) in town, you'll need lots of patience to nab a table during peak hours. The fried chicken here comes in three flavours: original, sweet and special garlic soy sauce. Go for the Combo Chicken Set to try them all! Burppler Ms Foodie "absolutely loves the yangneom flavour. The original was surprisingly tasty as most of the time the inner bits are bland... but this is not!" Besides chicken they serve dishes like buckwheat noodles, stews, and oden.
