The Creme Caramel was only offered in the Burrple promo set. Despite its namesake, the pudding wasn't overly sweet and the caramel seemed to faintly taste of coffee. Would be glad to see it become a permanent item on the menu.
I'm not familiar with Vietnamese Cusine but the Chicken Pho was pretty refreshing as it was light on the palate. The Summer Tea was quite reminiscent of the grass jelly drink though.
Meatball linguine not bad. Good mix of spiciness and tomato flavours. Wagyu slices were rather tough, not sure if it’s the cutting, preparation time or meant to be like that hm. Mushrooms were good tho
The Pesto Cream Fish was a zesty blend of fish, salad and mashed potatoes.
Chuck n Chips. Not quite as good as Korean fried chicken but still delectable. The peppery sauce was also great.
The Prawn Aglio Oglio was surprisingly spicy but I must add that the noodles and prawns were springy in all the right ways.
Enjoyed the Fish and Chips (cod fish, $19.90) that was served. The fries and salad were good too.
Visited Brotzeit with friends for an early dinner. Among the dishes we ordered was the Veal-Goulash with Spätzle, Grilled Pork Sausages and Farmer's Sausage. The Veal-Goulash with Spätzle provided an unusual blend of beef (like rendang)and pasta (like mee hoon kuey) that did not quite suit our tastes. However, we enjoyed the Grilled Pork Sausages a lot. The Farmer's Sausage was saltier than the Grilled Pork Sausages but was complemented by the delicious grilled potatoes.
Visited Brotzeit with friends for an early dinner. Among the courses we ordered was the Black Forest Ham Floden. The saltiness of the cheese and ham highlighted the bitterness of the rockets a bit too much for our liking.
Went there for dinner on Friday where most ingredients were out. Beef tender aglio olio was quite “dry” without the onsen egg. Rice dishes had more vegetables in them and felt more balanced. Shimeji truffle dish smelt good as there was a decent amount of truffle oil and the taste didn’t disappoint. Overall it seems worth coming when there’s a discount only. Service was also very good with friendly cashier staff :)
Paid $16.90 for two bowls (1 for 1) at Paddy Folks, some ingredients ran out as there were quite a lot of customers that Friday. Without the onsen egg, this dish was quite “dry”. Rice bowl was a more balance option as it contained more vegetables. Overall it’s only worth trying if you have the discount.
Visited Eleven Strands last evening. We were thankful to be able to get a table for five after walking in early since we couldn't make a reservation. Courses we ordered included the Fruitti de Mare, Duck Confit, Basil Pesto Pasta, Wagyu Beef Burger and Vongole (as pictured). The food was good but a tad overpriced if not for the ongoing deals.
