dinner date
rly rly good comes with couscous n tomatoes
rendang was seriously good! Both the beef ($22) and duck ($20) in these dishes was very tender, succulent and there was that melt-in-your-mouth kick 🤩
sourdough bread in the duck confit dish was vv soft and fresh 👍🏼 the arugula was also q soaked in olive oil? and usually i hate this vegetable but i finished the whole plate :o
vanilla latte was so so and it was fine for the price i guess ($5?)
total damage: $33 with burpple 1 for 1.
would come back, atmosphere is super chill and relaxing - good for brunch dates.
things to note:
• BB deal only applies to first 3 items on lunch n breakfast menu
• this cafe is mixed together with the fat belly restaurant so yea the kitchen is mixed i think? there's a bar seating kinda area (where i sat) u can see the baristas and chefs at work
• there's also normal tables and chairs + alfresco dining right outside.
had to add $4 to get truffle fries instead of normal fries. was p average, the normal burger.
atmosphere was q nice with so much greenery around, as expected from ps cafe
me and my friend ordered the kalbi, sirloin, marinated meat, pork and skirt steak to grill ourselves.
the portions given were smaller than i expected, and the meat was extremely disappointing.. all too chewy and a struggle to eat. Some are very juicy and fatty but just TOO chewy! each of these meat servings are also $12.80 and they gave about 4 pieces of meat each - might be ok for some people, but i seriously expected better quality meat at that price point.
i ordered the egg as well (the picture shown was like those korean steamed eggs) but we got some egg mayo filling thing on a plate.. it was cold, and $5? very misleading ._.
maybe i'll come back to try their mains but i'm definitely not coming back for this bbq/grill.
the total damage was $90 for all this + 2 chicken wings that we ordered (quite ok)
filling but not of good quality and standard 🤧
*the burpple deal is only available on weekdays, unfortunately i didn't know haiz :(*
anyways..
SO GOOD!! the atmosphere here is very cozy, laid back, and perfect for dinner dates. make sure to make a reservation if you don't want the bar / kitchen bar counter seats. me and my friend sat at the kitchen bar counter and got to see all the professionals in action 😋 It was almost like an omakase experience.
I got the iberico pork ($48) it was extremely succulent, fatty, juicy and flavourful 🐷 with a black pepper sauce? spread under, and char-grilled potatoes, arugula and brussel sprouts with hints of wasabi surrounding the pork cuts.
My friend got the hamburg steak ($35) and it was soaked in this very yummy savoury sauce. It came with a side of vegetables as well - carrots, green pepper, potatoes.
Total damage: $91 😭 but!
I'll definitely be back 🥰🥰
