Food Hunt In Melbourne
Melbourne's home grown coffee roasting and cafe brand, which had expand to Portland, USA too! House in a old power station, the raw brick cafe has a huge brew counter as you see baristas at work. Here we are having Devilled Egg with Crispy Chicken Skin (AUD 4), Crab & Potato Omelette (AUD 20.50) and Potato Hash (AUD 21.50). Which I felt potato hash was the best as it comes with thick cut bacon, baby kale and poached eggs.
Quirky space with wooden chairs hanging from above, @brotherbababudan is a specialty coffee place located just a stone's throw away from Emporium Melbourne. Sipping a cup of their Flat White (AUD 4.50) before traveling around chilly Melbourne is a bliss!
You might have seen them on the limited edition Tim Tams labels but why not drop by the store for these rich creamy gelatos when you're in Aussie.
Their best sellers include Salted Caramel & White Chocolate (AUD 4.80 for single scoop) and it's easy to see why! Salted caramel gelato swirls with white chocolate chips, the salty dense gelato is just utterly divine!! Alternatively, go for their weekly special flavour such as Molto Bueno. Smooth hazelnut gelato studded with white chocolate hazelnut fudge, milk chocolate chips and wafers, it's just a Kinder Surprise
The one that we keep going back for! After all who doesn't like donuts 🍩🍩🍩 From Earl Grey & Rose Cake to Maple Walnut & Brown Butter, we were tempted to try all these delightful creations freshly made on site daily.
On my last visit, we had New Orleans Iced Coffee Cruller (AUD4.50) which is crisp on the outside, light and airy inside. Adding cocoa to the classic French Cruller, before dipping it in a cold brew coffee (from @MarketLane woah) and vanilla bean glaze made from Heilala Vanilla. Luscious yet delicate, it's a perfect addition to your morning coffee

Ending my short trip in Melbourne with a flat white (AUD4.50) at this standing room only coffee house. Packed to the brim with a long queue snaking out, it’s easy to spot #PatriciaCoffeeBrewers from afar.
Back to my favourite city, Melbourne! And first order was to pop by Pidapipo CBD outlet for their artisanal Italian-style gelato.
Made from scratch using premium ingredients such as pistachios from Sicily, hazelnuts from Piedmont, and milk from Warnambool. The must-try flavours includes Pistachio, Hazelnut and Nutella Swirl (from AUD4.80/scoop). Or give in to temptation and add on AUD1 for hot Nutella sauce, make it a tantalizing treat~
With the touchdown of @LuneCroissanterie in CBD, we do not have to travel up north to Fitzroy like the last round.
Well, not really since the CBD outlet offers a smaller selection that includes their signatures such as:
- Plain (AUD5.90)
- Pain Au Chocolat (AUD6.60)
- Ham & Gruyere (AUD9.10)
- Almond Croissant (AUD9.20)
- Lemon-curd Cruffin (AUD7.20)
Lemon curd cruffin is still the best for me, as the tartness of the curd and sugar-coated pastry is well-balanced. Mocha Hazelnut was equally good though it might be too sweet for some. As the twice baked croissant is filled with chocolate frangipane, espresso syrup and coffee caramel, garnished with chopped toasted hazelnuts.
Be sure to head out early utterly delightful pastries as they get sold out quickly. I even managed to lug a box of croissants home for my family~
P.S: they only accept payment via card. So be sure to bring your debit/credit card along else you might just leave empty-handed.
