Crushed Hazelnuts, Rustic Toast

Quite an enjoyable avo toast! Generous servings of avo that wasn’t salty, the feta, tomatoes, sesame seeds and hazelnuts added additional flavour and texture. Toast was good, crunchy but not too dry.

Poached Eggs, Bacon, Hollandaise, Parmesan

Eggs were poached well, was runny and hollandaise was tasty. Sausage and bacon were salty as expected. Unfortunately the rosti fell short, was looking for a soft fluffy one with a crisp exterior, but this one lacked that softness and plushness of a potato, tasted a bit too raw for our liking. A pity!

2 Eggs Your Way, Bacon, Breakfast Banger, Mushrooms, Tomato, Baby Spinach, Beans & Rustic Bread

Pretty decent, each component was done properly - we particularly enjoyed the rustic bread and juicy earthy mushrooms! Overeasy eggs had a runny yolk within, was cooked nicely. Nothing outstanding but still satisfied.

Tofu Scramble, Kale, Mushrooms, Grains, Avocado, Nuts, Seeds. Ingredients were fresh and lightly seasoned, was tasty! Avo was nicely ripened, tofu scramble was soft and felt like scrambled eggs, oyster mushrooms were joosy and delish. Portion looked small but was more substantial than expected! Would order again, was yummy~

The brioche was p thick and fluffy and soft, not super buttery but good with the caramelised bananas + coconut caramel. Wasn’t a big fan of the salted caramel ice cream with almonds, tasted slightlyyy doughy but thankfully wasn’t sickeningly sweet. There were pecans in there too! Overall liked the dish, good for sharing if not it might be a tad sweet - we shared amongst 4!

This was LIT yall musttt try this if you visit chu & co!!!!! It is so damn delicious - filling is light and slightly fluffy with an earthy strong mushroom favour. Also loved the flaky pie crust which wasn’t too buttery so it wasn’t greasy and sinful. I usually prefer sweet > savoury but I think this savoury tart is my fav out of everything I've tried here :’)

Scone looks craggly, it’s not super buttery, also not floury but feels a bit plain. The texture is quite crumbly. Definitely needs the condiments. Edit: after 2 days (bought on sat, eating on mon), the scone tastes nicer! More 入味, good on its own. Extra nice when toasted in the oven.

The creme brûlée is so good? I didn’t know I liked creme brûlée bc it usually is quite sweet. This was sweet from the sea salt caramel, but not cloying, tasted quite light, and it was very smooth and had a nice pleasant vanilla fragrance (u can see the speckles of vanilla)! I really enjoyed this.

Blackcurrant compote was nice and curranty with whole currants inside, but the yuzu flavour was not present. It was tangy from the currants and not the yuzu.

Tldr: idm having these scones again, it’s not bad, and if I see the creme brûlée listed as the accompanying “sauce” I will definitely order!!

The smashed apple & avo guac was quite unique, I’ve never had apple in guac before and I thought it was p good - the apples provided a crunch. They also gave some unsliced guac with dukkah spice sprinkled on top. Waffles were terrible - it was limp and cakey. The fried NoChicken patty from The Vegetarian Butcher was surprisingly good - it’s a decent dupe for chicken and had good flavour, wasn’t dry and had a nice bite. The roasted vine cherry tomatoes were juicy but was so hard to take off the vine. Mesclun salad was so-so, but the croutons were dry and crunchy which I liked.

The set also came with toast (next review) and a fruit bowl which was not great - the cubed fruits had lost their crunch and natural sweetness.

These were average breakfast items, nothing outstanding. The wrap could have had more ingredients (eggs, roast tomatoes, shrooms), there was a lot of bare wrap. I liked the chutney on the sandwich, but the ham, cheese, tomato & mayo was rather standard. Latte was nice tho! It was strong enough and not acidic.

This tasted as good as it looked! The scramble was fluffy and slightly runny, I was really impressed! Croissant was crisp as well. My lunch buddy had the bacon chop and offered me some, but I feel that the smoked salmon was a better choice (the bacon was a bit heavy for me). I’ve been to rookery a few times now and I haven’t been disappointed. Prices are a little on the high side if not for the 1-4-1 deals on eatigo/burpple/ShopBack, so thank goodness for that :)

A long queue for this, but unfortunately it was a little too salty for our liking. The meat is tender and not dry, but really salty. Thankfully, the bagel and pickles help to cut through that saltiness slightly. Probably would not queue for this again!

These were some pretty solid tarts, my family enjoyed it a lot! Crust was flaky, crunchy and buttery; not at all soggy. This is what an ideal shortcrust pastry should taste like. Egg custard was soft and creamy for both.

The crunchy pine nuts shone through for the roasted pumpkin tart, and the fragrance from the sage was very inviting. I liked this tart more than the other.

For the mushroom tart, there was a nice earthy flavour from the mushroom but the goat's cheese was a bit strong for me.
