You may know One Half for their coffee, but they also brew lovely teas. The Seasonal Cold Brew Tea (RM12) changes often, and on the current roster is a flowery black tea. They tell us it's ideally steeped for around 13 hours, but they use a more efficient method. They're not telling but it works, as the characteristics of the tea are outstanding – medium-bodied that's floral on the tongue. Look to this tea for a change the next time your coffee-loving friends are getting their caffeine fix here.

Find artisanal milk teas, cold brew teas and more at this gorgeous spot inside Zhongshan Building. The milk teas are must-orders, like the smoky Iribancha (RM12) or the classic Houjicha (RM12). Be sure to have them with the Homemade Molasses Jelly (RM2) – sweet bites with every sip! Japanese tea lovers, flock to this minimalist cafe for all things matcha and more. If it’s your first time here, go for the Ren Iced Matcha Latte (frrom RM16), which Burppler Xing Wei Cheang describes as “vibrant green and jam-packed with umami, both signs of the best quality matcha”. Also good is the Hojicha Latte (RM10) with strong roasted notes. P.s The pure matcha powder is available for sale, and can be used for drinking, baking and more!

This Petaling Street hotspot is one of the few cafes in town to focus on tea – you will not find a coffee machine here! Their tea leaves are specially brought in from China, and expertly brewed by the team to bring out each unique flavour. The strong and herbaceous Aged Liu Bao Tea (RM18), a fermented black tea which carries sweet notes when brewed at the right timing (just one minute!). Other must-haves are their cold brew teas like the light-bodied and floral-tasting Darjeeling First Flush (RM22) and the refreshing Japanese Sencha Green Tea (RM18). Pro tip: Teas are only available between 11am to 6pm!

Recommendations from the community include the Silver Needle (White, RM18) and Ya Shi Xiang (Oolong, RM13). Alternatively, opt for a Matcha Latte (RM16) or the bubbly Genmaicha Cold Brew Tea (RM12) that's perfect for hot days. If you’re feeling peckish, opt for the Cha-Bagel (RM18) – a poppy seed bagel with housemade matcha cream cheese and smoked salmon.

Settle in at this serene tea bar tucked in C180 Cheras for quiet time with a close friend over imported teas. Available daily, their teas range from bold blacks to delicate florals. Fans of light tea will enjoy the Gong Mei White Tea (RM30) that carries crisp floral notes with every sip. Find house-brewed kombuchas here as well, like the fizzy apple-flavoured Kombucha (RM16) made from premium Ceylon black tea. Pair your teas with some of their heavenly housemade desserts such as the Osmanthus Jelly (RM8) and Red Bean Cake (RM8).

This mod-chic tea bar in Gardens Mall is a joint venture with Purple Cane – a familiar name in the game. Take tea-drinking to a new level by trying their frothy housemade Nitro Tea (RM15.90) that comes in three different flavours – Pu'Er Honey Tea, Lemongrass Black Tea and Roselle Hawthorn. The menu also boasts a wide selection of imported Chinese teas such as the smoky Premium Long Jing (RM18.90) and light-bodied Dried Mandarin Peel White Tea (RM18.90), all meticulously brewed with the exact timing and temperature. Pro tip: Sip slowly as rebrews are not allowed here!
