second set meal we got was the 60 degrees chicken breast. if you think chicken breast is tough and the worst part of the chicken to eat, wheelerās yard will challenge that - the sous vide chicken is the most tender I have tasted so far, and the mashed potatoes laid below the meat with some lightly buttered corn by the side make this option for dinner both healthy and tasty. motivates even the laziest of us to eat well and be well:p
as work becomes busier we have a little less time to head out for meals, but we have also become more discerning about which food places we love - wheelerās yard is one of them! :) the place has a great aesthetic, as well as good food quality. we got the burpple set meal, with our first pick being the porky bowl. perfectly steamed rice, with wonderfully glazed pork laid above + juicy egg to top it off. savoured every bite (Y)
while my boyfriend got a meatier option, I decided to settle for something sweet - blueberry banana waffles topped with vanilla ice cream and maple syrup. it was a perfect brunch to start a lazy sunday with! I especially liked that the batter was freshly made for each batch of waffles ordered, was really worth the wait :)
woke up a little earlier on sunday with my bf to get some jaffles at amber ember and decided to try them given the intriguing name (jaffles = pressed brioche buns toasted in cast iron). both the name and the taste were intriguing, we got the Nice To Meat You - it was nicely jam-packed with beef and pork and all and it was juicy, tasty and bursting with flavour till the last bite. definitely will come back for seconds!
Ordered a carbonara, which was both creamy and delicious - the sous vide egg on the top was perfect too. Left feeling happy and full :)
Came here with my parents and bae for a mid-afternoon brunch, a real value-for-money place and a very juicy burger :)
Continuing on from Sunday brunch at The Bread Shop, my parents got the Sunday special Ham and Cheese Croissant with a Pumpkin Soup to go with it. The portion was pretty substantial and good for sharing if youāre not feeling too hungry - the soup is sweet and tasty, best finished hot (of course), and the croissant was buttery stuffed just right with the ham and cheese. Enjoyed every bit of it!
Went out for a nice family brunch with my parents and bf and wandered into The Bread Shop, where we got an All-In Breakfast. The roasted potatoes were flavourful, the scrambled eggs were fluffy and the chorizo added a spicy side to the meal. The two slices of mini-bread were also soft and easy to eat, and went well with the scrambled eggs
We also got a garlic bomb (not pictured here) which was also fantastic - the bread was perfectly toasted and the garlic butter was nicely absorbed into it, so each bite was both crunchy and savoury. Great Sunday find :)
Ordered a Truffle Salmon Scrambled for a post-workout brunch with my bf, eggs were perfectly fluffy on a well-toasted multigrain bread and the salmon was not overdone. Both delicious and filling :)
Ordered a Pancakes with Mixed Berry Compote, Salted Caramel and Greek Yogurt to share with a couple of friends for a late lunch - the pancakes were soft and fluffy, and the berries/caramel/yogurt provided an accompanying great mix of flavour. Serving is a bit large so best if youāre hungry/sharing - otherwise 10/10 would recommend!
