Very indulgent Monday dinnerš Not too sure about all the exact dishes ordered (since I wasnāt the one who ordered haha), but my favourites were the Foie Gras with Terakyaki Sauce, Sashimi (consisting of Otoro, Kampachi and Kajiki), A5 Miyazaki Wagyu Beef and Hokkaido Scallops with Onion Butter.
Some of the other dishes were quite unique, but may have not impressed so much in terms of taste. For instance, the Mikuni Lobster Maki scored in terms of presentation, but was pretty ordinary-tasting. I felt that it did not do the lobster justice as the sweetness and texture of the lobster was not really brought out. The dessert was really pretty, and I thought it was good end to the meal as it was refreshing and wasnāt too heavy. I think this is a pretty nice place overall with good ambience and quality food, and worth a visit even though there are misses here and there. P.S. 2nd visit to Aura; this time, for a dear friendās Henās Night!
Thought of this place when my friends and I were brainstorming for a place with kind of a fancy ambience but yet wouldnāt burn a giant hole in our pockets (well, the latter is cos we could use the #burpplebeyond 1-for-1 promo for the mains!). Not gonna review the mains again as I had the same main I had the previous time haha (I find it hard not to choose beef when there is beef on the menuš), but I would just say that I enjoyed my main (not sure whether it was partly cos we had dinner late and were really starving when we arrivedš). We ordered this scampi pasta to share on top of our mains, and all of us thought this was pretty good. As there were 4 of us, we only had a few mouthfuls each, and I think each of wished we had more to go around. The pasta sauce was tasty without being too rich, and I donāt think I would have any issues polishing this off myself as a meal. The scampi was also fresh, with a nice springy bite to it.
