Taka Food Fiesta 2019 ๐ข๐ก๐๐ฎ๐ฅช
Dark chocolate tart base topped with lotsa purple goodness that was made fromsweet potato puree and chantilly cream. Subtle and fragance sweet potato taste that is not too sweet. Surprising factor was the sweet potato meat that was hidden within the tart base after when it was cut open. The topping ball was actually sweet potato too, with a small slice of white chocolate to finish off the pleasing presentation!
Added smoked salmon to zhng up the plain-looking swiss shredded fried potatos to something that can relates with the hearts of Asian, especially Singaporeans. Very crispy rosti that was oily. The doop of sour cream tasted quite neutral hence no brownie points added to salvage the dish. But the 2 slices of smoked salmon was definitely one of the saviour. You may want to leave some space for others and come back to this is you have spare cash or more space in stomach after trying others.
Hailing all the way from Tokyo Japan is the famous thousand layer crepe katsu. There are 2 choices, with or without the cheese and we gotten their katsu sandwich. Since there isnโt much people because we were there early, we requested for a new set and hot ones. Bread was spread with sweet sauce before inserting the katsu in. Would have prefer the bread to be slightly toasted for the enhance crispiness. Pork katsu was soft and crispy but the flavour was definitely a lacklustre as compared to the ones i ate in Japan. Overall, it is still a good sandwich but probably not justify by the price of $8.
Hailing from this shop named as Aunty Esther selling black pepper and chicken mushroom pie. We picked the former and get a taste of it. Light and buttery crust with slight black peppery taste from the chicken and potato fillings. The crust was soft though, easily for us to cut through and sliced it into half.
Only left with the Uji Matcha flavour and it was on weekend promotion at $1.50 for 1. I regret tearing it while walking because the filling burst and flows out immediately. Matcha filling was thick and flow-y, flavour was subtle but still strong and authentic as compared to some of those in the market.
Bun skin is soft with mochi-like texture, slightly chewy. Rest assured that the green colour skin is 100% natural green dye from flowers and plants.
