Nothing spectacular to write home about.
Tastes like a rather average bowl of truffle wagyu Don. Have definitely tasted better options out there. BUT. That being said, with the 1-1, this comes out to about $8.50 a bowl and it’s value for money. If you’re paying full price, then burning oak and waa cow might be a better choice.
The food was quite average but definitely value for money. Fish were relatively fresh and service was quite fast, which we appreciated since it was a Tuesday evening.
The area was quite small with half a dozen tables or so hence we waited for about 15 mins before getting seated during dinner peak hour, which I thought was reasonable.
If you’re looking for cheap and affordable fish bowls, then here is the plce to be! But there are definitely better options elsewhere for slightly more money.
This place has great ambience and value for money. The staff here are really friendly too! The sashimi we had was very fresh and the portions a pretty huge. Enjoyed myself here!
Had the pleasure bowl and normal wagyu bowl the last time and wanted to try something different.
Felt like their portions has decreased since the last time I was here. Beef quality still good nonetheless and service was impeccable. Didn’t really fancy the tempura. If you’re ordering starters, the Camembert mochi and chicken wings is the tried and true way to go (imho).
Came for the birthday sashimi.
Conditions are such that each person has to buy a donburi or ramen.
Unfortunately both were not exceptionally great hence not justifying their steeper prices. There are definitely better ramen out there.
But of course, the birthday sashimi was a bonus so if that justifies the prices for mediocre ramen then it’s worth a try.
Always glad to be back. Came during dinner this time and the ambience was good. Service was excellent too!
Unagi don came with a nice serving of garlic fried rice. The garlic taste wasn’t overly overwhelming which is good for those that have to go back to work but this caused it to have a pretty disappointing and lackluster flavor.
The Beef Don was slightly tough and the cut of beef has a lot of tendons which made is slightly tougher to chew. The portions were meager and the rice that came with was just white rice.
Pretty disappointed since this place was pretty hyped up by some food bloggers. Maybe I just tried the wrong dishes.
Hidden upstairs in telok ayer, this place is a jem. The pleasure bowl was $58 dollars but filled with tons of quality ingredients such as foie gras and uni. The wagyu was also soft and fresh. Very worth it!
Very affordable!
Located at a coffee shop, the ingredients provided are fresh and quite generous. Felt that the rolls had slightly too much rice with little ingredients but the generous mentaiko sauce partially made up for it!
Oh boy am I glad that Waa Cow is on burpple beyond. This set is very worth it and there’s the option to change the rice bowl (we’ll just have to top up the differences). The oysters were fresh and the mentaiko scallops were nicely seared. The owner of the place was also very friendly and service was excellent overall. Will be back for more!
This was a rather surprising dish as it packed quite the punch and was flavorful. Used the 1-1 burpple beyond but noted that the specials were not included in the 1-1 offer.
Great meal overall!
