Had the Truffle Beef Bagel (+3) which was very delicious!!! Beef strips were tender and the bun stayed chewy throughout. Nice!
Love the presentation!!! This tasted really good too with the creamy prawn mayo!
😋 .
Very happy with this plate of Haebi Prawn Seaweed Aglio Olio 🍝 ($15.90) from Two Hana as it comes with an exceedingly generous servings of prawns 🦐 stirred into al dente linguine that has been tossed in chilli oil and garlic.
Finished with dried shrimp floss, seaweed and a scattering of spring onions, this East-meets-West fusion dish was a marriage of spicy and savoury flavours which greatly satisfied my tastebuds ❤
❤ .
Featuring the Marshmallow and Nutella Chimichanga ($8) from Chimichanga which comes with gooey chewy marshmallows and sweet nutella wrapped in a soft toasted flour tortilla. To finish, a scoop of vanilla ice cream 🍦 is placed atop the chimichanga which is then generously drizzled with chocolate sauce 🍫 .
Slice into this sweet chimichanga and you'll reveal a gooey marshmallow mess that's all ready for the digging! Ready, set, spoon! 🤤
😆 .
Brewed to order with Qingxin oolong tea leaves which are handpicked from the Lishan mountains in Taiwan, the Dong Ding Oolong Fresh Milk Tea ($5.20 with pearls) is an aromatic cuppa where the fresh milk does not overwhelm the woody fragrance of the tea 🍵 Had this a few times already and the tea never fails to impress me with its nuanced full-bodied flavour 👌💯 Every sip is an absolute delight! 😍 .
As for the pearls, they're about 1.5x the size of the pearls at other bubble tea joints and have a pleasant caramelized taste to them in addition to being really bouncy and chewy 😋 .
So glad that there's now a @chichasanchen.sg outlet @amk_hub which makes it much more convenient for me to get my BBT fix! 😄
😍 .
Yep, your eyes are not deceiving you! German deli Berthold Delikatessen at The Capitol Kempinski Hotel runs a 50% off promotion for ALL their cakes and tarts after 8pm daily which makes it the perfect place to pop by for an after-dinner treat! 😄 .
This time round, we had their Carrot Cake 🥕 , Lemon Meringue Tart 🍋 and Blackberry Tart.
The Carrot Cake came with a cute little carrot 🥕 (made up of what I think is white chocolate) on a bed of carrot cake slathered with cream cheese. The cake was suitably moist and contained a generous amount of shredded carrot in it. Bugs Bunny would be happy to munch on this! 🐰 .
As for the tarts, the Lemon Meringue Tart was a zesty treat with the beautifully piped meringue lending sweetness to the sour lemon cream in the tart 🍋 Likewise, the Blackberry Tart also boasted a great balance of flavours. The whipped cream spiral (adorned with a flower made up of icing sugar! 🌹) nicely balances out the tartness of the berries which can be a little too acidic if eaten in silo.
To further sweeten the deal, Berthold Delikatessen has a gorgeously designed interior (reminiscent of that of an upscale European cafe!) for you to enjoy your sweet treats in!!! You can choose to sit within the chic main dining area, at their alfresco area or at the mezzanine which is a great place to people watch especially when there are theatre-goers catching a play at Capitol Theatre in the evening! .

It took awhile but the Basque Burnt Cheesecake trend has finally made its way to Singapore and spearheading the charge is none other than this creamy cheesecake from The Kins, a new cafe that just witnessed its official launch last week. Congrats guys! 🎉🎊 .
Though this cheesecake might not look as pretty as regular cheesecakes with its singed top, trust me when I say that it's so damn delicious that you'll want a whole piece of this all to yourself! 💯 .
Underneath the uneven blackened layer lies a moist, oozy layer at the centre followed by a light, fluffy layer of Japanese style cheesecake at the base 😋 .
Dig your fork into the cheesecake and watch as the cheesecake just oozes languidly onto your fork. Lift said fork to your mouth and let the cheesecake just dissolve on your tongue. Pure ambrosia! ❤ .
With each mouthful, you open up your palate to a variation of flavours and textures ranging from the slightly bitter & smoky crème brûlée-esque top to the creamy, custardy centre layer which boasts a strong milky flavour & a refreshing hint of zest and finally on to the sweet, fluffy layer of cheesecake at the bottom. Oh yeah, and there are those firm edges at the back which provide a different mouthfeel too! It's oh so satisfying and not cloying in the least bit! 🤤 .
Though the cake is served with a dollop of sweetened whipped cream on the side (not sure why ours looked like a puddle from the moment it arrived 🤷♀️), the cake is honestly so good on its own that it didn't really need this extra cream to elevate its flavour! 💯 .
Definitely wouldn't mind heading all the way back to Pasir Panjang just for this baby 💋
How about you? What's your kind of comfort food? 😌
$17.80) from now till 17 July! 🤤 .
Recognised as one of the four global gastronomic delights alongside caviar, foie gras and truffle, the high-quality and highly prized Iberico pork is derived from the free-range black hog pigs 🐖 of the Iberian Peninsula which are fed solely on a diet of acorns.
Here at Gochi So-Shokudo, you can get a taste of it for under $10 when you get either this set or their Shrimp Paste Iberico Pork Don Set ($6.90nett). What a steal right?! 😱 .
Coated in a savoury-sweet teriyaki glaze, the Iberico pork was really juicy and succulent, and was delicious when eaten together with the nori, spring onions and rice 🍚. Break the onsen egg and let the molten yolk flow all over the pork for a mouthful that's sure to delight!💯
