Bread/Pastries
Scone was buttery, crumbly and crisp outside. Tasted fantastic on its own without any condiments. Literally melt in my mouth goodness. The best scone I’ve had in a long time. Will get this again for sure.
Like the raisin + orange peel combo. Flavour was good. I had it toasted so it was crisp outside and slightly sticky and sweet inside. I find their pastries to be generally denser inside. Not bad.
Cakes are better than the buns.
Butter cake was the best. It was really buttery, light and fluffy. Banana cake was slightly denser and the taste of banana was too subtle for me.
Otah filling was not bad but bread was dry. Yam was abit oily and sweet for me although the bread was soft.
I don’t find them better or worse than other neighbourhood bakeries.
Egg, cheddar, mozz, feta.
Get this if you like their bialy and want 1/2 the thickness of the bread. Tasty cheese + bread combo.
Roasted cauliflower, baba ghanoush, fattoush, toum, zhug, pickled onions, dukkah
A whole pita sandwich instead of the half I was expecting. It was HUGE and good for sharing with generous amount of ingredients that were flavourful and tasty.
More like custard soaked bread with raisins instead of a danish. Bread was dry in parts not soaked with custard. Needs more raisins.
Won’t get it again.
Their kouign amann was the first that I liked as most are overwhelmingly sweet to me and this wasn’t. It was fluffy inside, sticky/gooey near the bottom and crunchier at the top. Maybe because I had it heated up this time, the melted sugar made it less crunchy/crispy compared to the first time I had it.
Still my no.1 kouign amann though. Can see why this is their signature.
Chocolate croissant with Valrhona dark chocolate filling and chocolate belt on top. This seems super chocolatey and it was but it all came from the rich, dark choc filling within and choc belt. The dough itself did not taste chocolatey and it was also not buttery.
If you like your pain au chocolat chocolatey with quality bittersweet choc, try this. But I’d like the pastry to shine more.
Like their kanelbullar but studded with lots of crunchy walnuts and covered with sweet coffee icing. Like this more than their kanelbullar as I’m not a fan of cardamom. Will get this again.
Choc bread was soft and fluffy like their other sweet buns with swirls of nutty paste in the dough and PBJ on top. Love this flavour combo which was nutty, sweet and chocolatey. Will get this again.
A slice of buttery, laminated fluffy brioche with chocolate swirls slathered with custard and topped with chocolate crumble. The chocolate crumble was key in elevating this from good to satisfying by adding crunch and more chocolatey goodness. Perfect for breakfast.
I asked for less sweet iced honey butter latte and I really liked it. Kinda similar to that sea salt caramel latte that I really like too a few stalls away.
Will get these 2 again.
house-made ricotta | sliced avo | soft-boiled egg | pickled red peppers | microgreens | brioche toast
It was a simple yet tasty open-faced sandwich. I like the combination of ricotta, avo and egg on fluffy and buttery brioche. I thought the addition of pickled whole peppers was also a really nice
They were generous with the ingredients and I enjoyed the flavour combination. I will get this again.
