Sweet Things
May not look like much but that airy cream in the middle is ultra fragrant of strawberry sweetness. Goes well with the fluffy roll cake. A bit sad that there was only one (albeit large) strawberry in there.
Relatively new to the neighbourhood, this bake shop has a sweet touch. There are cakes, doughnuts (omg), brownies and a small selection of savouries (on weekends mostly).
The signature is this earl grey cake that sports three layers; the cake is fragrant while the cream cheese filling has a tinge of saltiness, both of which come together for an interesting balance.
Seriously fat slice of chocolate cake that rocks smooth ganache and decently moist sponge. Could’ve done without the slightly sweeter vanilla ice cream, but that hot-and-cold contrast was quite enjoyable!
Served warm, this toasty and cinnamon-spiced apple butter cake would make a nice tea companion.
Hard to get this wrong but kudos to this charming nook for nailing those perfect swirls! The chocolatey-cheesy balance is great, and goes pretty nicely with the mildly sweet dollop of cream.
Pretty chill, spacious spot, Red Kettle doesn’t just do hearty mains and great bakes. Desserts are solid too! Take the soft serve; the Chocolate’s creamy yet light, though I’m still a devoted fan of the semi-sweet, wholly delicious Vanilla. Good size for an afternoon treat too.
Officially obsessed with this Milo ice cream, which I dare call the best I’ve ever had! Tastes just like a very good cup of Milo Ais and it’s even got those chewy, chocolatey Milo bits folded in for a bite. Pun’s ice cream leans toward the chewier, almost gelato-like side, yet it’s got just enough creaminess to love.
