Sandwiches
Tried this because I was craving some Cajun fries. The patty was juicy, well seasoned and covered with a generous amount of melted cheese. Pretty good, but I still prefer the Cubanos here!
We also got the Porchetta ($15) and the Space Sheep ($14). But clearly, the standout was the Hangover Helper. It’s pretty much just bacon, eggs and hash brown... but it was so AMAZING. A must try.
Porchetta was also pretty good with some fatty pork. The green salsa verde really helped cut through the fat with that one. Didn’t try the lamb but my friend said it was good also. Protip - share the bagel with your friends so you can try more flavours!
The queue was damn long though and it sells out quite fast so come before 3pm! The environment was really nice but the outside area needs more fans... Al fresco dining is not good for me in this heat.
Preferred the ribeye cheesesteak to this, though the brisket was also extremely good! You can read my other review for a longer breakdown of the place, but
TLDR:
- loaded chips that comes with the Cubano are excellent!
- portions are damn big
- didn’t use Beyond cuz prices are reasonable and I didn’t want a Cuban soda
The Cubano was so delicious... Even though I can’t take spicy food, this was still super good. Really hits the spot when you want some comfort food. The beef was also tender and the bread was really crispy.
I love the loaded chips. Might even be better than fries (and I LOVE fries).
Didn’t use Burpple Beyond because we didn’t want to buy the soda. Cuban sodas are quite sweet and we wanted something lighter. We also got the set (drink and soup for $2-3 more). The broccoli cheese soup was also super creamy and AMAZING! It also came with this delicious garlic bread.
The staff member who served us was also really friendly and personable!
I’d be back again for sure! Portions are huge though and I couldn’t finish the Cubano. I’d suggest you share or dapao the mains, because they’re too delicious to waste!
Didn’t use Burpple Beyond because we only wanted to get one to share. The otah was ok only, but the egg was really fluffy! It’s just your average sandwich. Probably wouldn’t purchase again because I can make it at home for cheaper.
I really have to recommend the smoked ribs bagel! They allowed us to customise the salmon bagel, so actually you can take out the capers (which I didn’t really enjoy). The salmon bagel cost approx $6.50 and the ribs cost $13. Definitely worth it 😍😍
