Cafes
The cafe is currently having 1-for-1 for their pastas! This was $19 before discount. The laksa sauce was authentic, and the soft shell crab generously sized. Overall the dish was good but quite dry, and the crab could have been tastier. The cafe interior and service was very pleasant!
$18.80 for upsized don
Have been a loyal fan of Omote since it’s Sushiro days at the other corner of Thomson Plaza, but I have to say their standard has clearly dropped. The sauce has a weird synthetic saccharine taste, the cubes aren’t as fresh, and the portion of the original $12 bowl is much smaller. Would probably not go back for awhile.
$7/ slice
Truly regretted not visiting this place earlier! In the end we only made in on the last day (before the main Bakers left) and for one of their last offerings. Was initially sceptical as this was a simple vegetarian pizza with only onions and cheese. But it turned out delicious! The sourdough bread really stood out.
$23 for two with Burrple Beyond!
The lobster and crab was fresh and cooked in the open. The bread was also spread with generous amounts of butter and grilled. Would try their half lobster next time! The matcha latte was too strong and bitter for my taste. Seating is quite limited and outdoors, would be quite uncomfortable on a hot day.
One of the smoothest, creamiest scrambled eggs I’ve had in Singapore. Goes well with the bacon. However the price is quite high for such a simple dish.
Bought for $14 with beyond’s 1 for 1. The beef was tender and well-seasoned with truffle. The sauce and garlic bits in the rice was also a great touch. Would go back again!
