A weekend outing with the cousins had us headed to Changi Village Food Centre where by the smell of fried chicken attracted us to Mizzy Corner Nasi Lemak. It was a short queue at 5pm on a Saturday, so I had my order for Set A in under 2 mins of waiting. Set A consist of a Chicken Wing, Fried Egg, Fried Anchovies, Cucumber and fragrant coconut rice with Chili. I ordered an additional Mackerel Spicy Fishcake wrapped in banana leafs. My first bite consisted of the rice, some chili and the fried anchovies which is heaven. The anchovies used by Mizzy Corner is those of the traditional Malay Nasi Lemak stores I had when I was a child, those that were crunchy and of medium size. The coconut rice was not too impressive as perhaps at 5pm, the rice serving was abit mushy. The chili was too watery or diluted to my liking, felt there was a lack of punch. The fried chicken wing was very crunchy and of a large serving for a set meal of $3.50, which I am quite impressed. The Otah was generally ok at $1 per piece add on. Overall, a rating of 💁♀️3.2/5! Perhaps trying it during breakfast would be much better! ~A
