Breakfast & Brunch 🥞🍳🥪
Shaky photo but great food! Savoury, spiced South-Indian donuts that are pretty much a breakfast/tea time staple in even in other Indian cities like Mumbai, so I've had them loads of times. But these were better than most I've had. They usually tend to be on the dense side but these were very light and fluffy but also super crispy on the outside! Normally I can't eat more than one but this was not too heavy. Definitely gotta make this a more regular haunt! I've had better sambar tho. But this one was still good and spicy! The chutneys were great!
This has chipotle aioli, spiced pork sausage, lettuce, egg and cheese, surrounded by an onion bagel. The star of the show was actually the delicious chipotle aioli and the onion bagel combo, as that was actually all that was left halfway through the bagel. The bagel bread was so oniony, I loved it! If you don't love the taste of onions, maybe don't go for this. Definitely check your breath afterwords.
The sausage tasted more like kebab because of the spices and the softer consistency. If I'm in the mood for a lighter and savoury breakfast bagel, I'm definitely getting this again!
This is one of the cheaper options at $10.
Consists of pepperoni, spicy tomato sauce and cheddar cheese according to the menu. The "spicy" sauce was super sweet and not really spicy at all. I think this sweetness was to try to balance out the saltiness of the pepperoni. The bagel was made of rye as they ran out of garlic ones which I wanted. Since rye bread is denser, this bagel actually tasted more bagel-ly than the garlic one I got last time. It was chewy and dense and that really helped prevent the bagel from becoming soggy from the sauce. There was also a layer of melted and hardened cheese underneath the bagels with tasted SO GOOD! I'm not sure if they deliberately fried extra cheese beneath or it melted downwards. Whatever it was, it ended up GREAT!
$12 for this. It's very filling so it's actually great to share! That will help make it cheaper too ;)
The Primal has beef brisket, which is house smoked. It's pretty tender and the char is so good! There were two hunks of fat chunks on both sides which just melted in your mouth. The brisket was a tad too salty for my liking. The mustard BBQ sauce, gherkins, pickled chillies and cheese might have made the saltiness worse. I chose the garlic bagel and did not regret that! The bagel was generously sprinkled with diced and roasted garlic. The bagel itself however, tasted much like bread with a little bit of chewiness at the edges. A bit too bready. While eating this, there was oil pouring out of every crevice. This was sooo oily! Mind you, it's not the meat or pickle juice. It was oil. Pretty messy to eat, too, as the filling was rather generous.
I'd definitely come back but I won't get The Primal again. I'd try some lighter options or the breakfast bagels. I was struggling to finish this. It would be good to share if not looking for a full meal!

My first breakfast pizza. There was a surprising amount of mushrooms on it, which was good but it was overwhelming all the other flavours sometimes. This pizza would have been dry if not for the runny egg in the middle. The bacon helped A LOT! It's a one-time try for me, but I was glad to try it for the first time.
$21 for regular-sized (small)
Although the pancakes were thin, they were soft and fluffy. Rather decent but nothing extraordinary.
$10.90
As delicious as it looks!
$13.50
You can choose either smoked salmon, ham or sausage with the salmon being $1 more than the other two.
This was so filling! Eggs were good. Pancakes were good. Sausage was, fortunately, good. Surprisingly, the salad was actually my favourite! It had some homemade dressing which was light but soooo good! I've never enjoyed and slowly savoured a salad so much.
$12.90
Although it looks rather messy, the rosti, i.e. potato pancakes, were really good! The rosti was made of potatoes and sweet potatoes. The combination was actually pretty good. Portion was not bad either.
$15.90
