Also had the 𝙈𝙖𝙩𝙘𝙝𝙖 𝙡𝙖𝙩𝙩𝙚, (~$6) which was ofc, great. Wouldn’t expect any less from this place 😜 It was super gao and I opted for no sugar because I was planning to have it with the cake! Was a good decision imo because matcha is naturally slightly bitter anyway

Would strongly recommend the 𝙂𝙤𝙢𝙖 𝙘𝙖𝙠𝙚 (~$8). The sponge cake was very light and had an amazing black sesame fragrance. As with most Japanese desserts, it wasn’t too sweet as well.

Not sure why this looked so diff from the other Burpple reviews. My egglet wasn’t crispy at all, and tasted more like a pancake.

The ice cream wasn’t amazing either. While the Pistachio ice cream was quite creamy, the Choco Milo just tasted like regular chocolate ice cream. On the bright side, prices were very reasonable though.

All in all, I probably wouldn’t be back again. The place is quite inaccessible as it’s deep inside a HDB estate in Toa Payoh.

There were two ice cream sandwiches: earl grey ice cream with chocolate chip cookies + toffee with double chocolate chip cookies.

The cookies were chewy and the ice cream had pretty strong flavours and was very milky! The sandwiches were from Geometry (an ice cream parlour also on Beyond). Though the cookies were good, they weren’t super satisfying as a dessert. Probably due to their size? I definitely don’t regret ordering it, but I probably wouldn’t crave it.

The salmon was well-done with a delicious, crispy skin! The creamy miso sauce wasn’t too jelat and was quite enjoyable.

But honestly, it’s a bit ex for 2 small bowls of pasta. I wasn’t full after this and I went to get some more food elsewhere afterwards :( Probs wouldn’t be back!

Paid $16.47 after Burpple Beyond

Vegan ice cream that isn’t too sweet, but is also rich in chocolate flavor! Kind Kones always has the best vegan ice cream, and this flavor was no exception.

Tried a mixed bowl of their seasonal mandarin orange flavor and açai.

Don’t know if it’s because I’m eating it in the hot sun at Botanics instead of at home, but the açai and orange both had this gritty taste. My friend found the gritty taste to be more “natural” which makes sense because they use dates to sweeten the bowls iirc. Personally, I prefer the smoother texture of the past. Bring it back please!

Anyway, flavours were good! I love this place. Try it out when you’re feeling outdoorsy enough to walk in Botanics hahaha

Paid around $14 for this large bowl! Loved the plentiful and fresh toppings but I feel like the açai was a bit diluted as well 😢 I’d eat this again if I was in the area, but I wouldn’t seek this out specifically

I’ve always had a soft spot for Project Açai because it was my first taste of açai back in 2015. Got the medium bowl for ~$9 iirc. Really enjoyed the generous chunk of peanut butter in the centre with an indulgent drizzle of cookie butter on top.

Though after trying other açai bowls, I’ve got to say that Project Açai feels more diluted in its flavour. And it also offers less toppings (where are my cocoa nibs), some of which are mainstays of açai places. The granola was also placed at the bottom, so it was a little soggy when I ate it.

I’ll definitely purchase this again if I’m in the area and craving some açai, but sadly, I think other açai shops have taken over my No1 spot.

ps: spot the doge in the background who’s blatantly begging for a taste of that nut butter! 🐶

Paid ~$8 for this! Though there are some imperfections in this dish (char siew was a bit tough because of the pan-grilling), they were made up by the amazing price point! For good and thrifty ramen fix, do stop by this place 🥳

The waffles provided a salty contrast to the ice cream. The rum and raisin ice cream was packed with rum-soaked raisins that really packed a punch! Had a much better experience here a second time around. 😊 Would recommend.

I’m addicted to Juju’s açai bowls ($8.80)!! I’ve ordered delivery for these bowls twice this week already. They are so generous with the açai and I really love how the crunchiness of the mulberries and cocoa nibs contrast with the smooth açai. The peanut butter on the frozen banana is also so creamy and delicious!

I would actually say this açai bowl is better than those found in Project Açai and Haakon! The açai seems less mushy for some reason and I prefer the toppings here. The usual berry toppings (like strawberries) are oftentimes sour and not very enticing at those places.
