Cafe Hopping
A dish that was sadly disappointing ☹️ The toast was the only part that was okay, the other components needed much more improvement. Scrambled eggs didn't have the desirable creamy and fluffy texture, and despite the sprinkles of sesame seed, were rather tasteless and bland. The unagi on the other hand, was too sweet (too much sauce perhaps) and had a rather weird fishy taste😅 Would suggest sticking to their other mains, like the har cheong gai burger
Carb overload here with the use of both rice and sweet potato fries.The sweet potato fries were good though, crisp on the outside with a soft and fluffy interior. The Pork patty was tender and didn’t require much of a chew, and was rather bland on its own but was otherwise fine when consumed together with the generous drizzle of what seemed to be sweet teriyaki sauce. I particularly liked the onigiri which was slightly crisp on one side and had a slight nutty flavour due to the blend of japanese rice and quinoa.
Heated the bread up before consumption and I liked the texture of the bread, which was soft, fluffy and chewy. The earthiness of the mushrooms was really strong in this, but the truffle taste wasn’t as strong as i imagined it would be. The smell of the truffle was quite strong though.
Apparenty an award winning pastry, though i’m not entirely sure what award lmao. One thing i’m sure about is that i enjoyed the croissant very much. Within the buttery layers of the croissant, there were fillings of mocha flavoured custard (?) that was smooth and carried just the right bittersweet balance. The combination of coffee and butter fragrance really reminded me of the coffee buns that i really love haha
P.S. If i’m not wrong there’s a 1-for-1 offer for their pastries daily (nope you don’t have to be a beyond member haha) after 5pm
Ordering coffee for the coffee art once again 😅 No coffee expert but i enjoyed sipping on coffee which was velvety smooth and rich with a subtle sweetness😊
Required quite abit of a wait, but was worth it. The toast carried a sinfully good buttery and eggy fragrance and the caramelized sugar coating torched to perfecting, having a sweet, slightly smokey flavour that paired well with the light chantilly cream at the side. My only gripe is that i would have personally preferred the use of thicker, brioche toasts 😅 If you're afraid it might be too sweet, there's plenty of fresh fruits to cut through that.

Didn't really read the description properly, so was kind of surprised when the dish came without the usual bacon, and had an unaesthetic brownish lump which turned out to be chicken😹
Unaesthetic it may be, the chicken was actually my favourite component of the dish; being really tender and flavourful, with a herb-y fragrance that wasn't too overpowering. The Smoked salmon on sourdough with avocado was pretty good too, not overly salty.
However, there were a few disappointing components too.The hashbrowns; supposedly truffle-infused, were too dry and hard and I could barely detect any truffle 🤔 Also, that single lone piece of mushroom on that sunny side up was sadly dry... seems like its only purpose was to add to the aesthetics of the dish 😅

This Sous Vide Salmon ($21.90) was supposed to come with soba noodles, but the staff actually kindly acceded to our request to have it switched to sweet potato fries instead. Was actually thinking that our request would be rejected but I'm impressed by their flexibility, unlike majority of the places I've been to. Will definitely be back to try the other dishes on their menu, especially the breakfast menu, which was actually what had drawn me to visit the cafe 😊

Also loved the side of bacon jam, though I did find the pastry that it came atop a tad too dry for my liking!
P.S. had a rather unpleasant experience at the end of my meal where we were rushed to vacate our seats (one staff actually came over to ask us if we were done with our meals and that she wanted to move us to outdoor seats to continue our conversations) when a few of my friends still had not finished their drinks. Found the cut of steak to be more on the fattier and chewier side though! Scrambled eggs were kind of lumpy and didn't have the silky smooth texture desired and it seems to me that they always over-season their eggs here with salt 😂

The chicken by itself was nothing special to me but I loved how the different components of the dish welded together. There were crispy bits atop the cheese and cashews beneath which provided the dish with a nice crunch and the fried potatoes at the side were flavourful with a slight spice.

This is definitely one of my favourite places for waffles.
The waffles have a great buttery fragrance, a hot and crisp exterior while retaining a soft and fluffy interior. Coupled with the cold scoop of ice cream, its truly heavenly😋 . I also loved the Earl Grey-infused caramel sauce and definitely wished they had perhaps given more on the side for me to drizzle on my waffle which i believes says something about how good the sauce is because I don't usually appreciate caramel sauce with my waffles?? 😅
