Kallang/Geylang/Paya Lebar/Eunos
Have actually seen and walked past YM Bakery at PLQ mall multiple times, however this is my FIRST time trying it!
They are an unpretentious no-frill bakery! They have a wide selection of tarts, and at affordable pricing!
Ordered a Peary Peart Tart ($27.50) to celebrate a family birthday occasion! Pear tarts are quite rare to find, and this was a masterpiece! I especially loved the buttery crispy hard crust shells! The pear was also so nicely poached!
If you are ordering whole tarts, you can FB msg them to make your reservation 2 days beforehand. Payment will be required via paynow/paylah to confirm your order. You can inform them whether you want your tart cut/uncut. They also provided complimentary Happy Birthday sign and candles!
@ivegansg (爱素) cafe restaurant serves natural, healthy and tasty plant-based whole-food!
All the dishes here are served without MSG and without refined sugar. They use Olive oil and Pansalt to cook! Hence, the meals here are all natural and healthy!
They have quite an extensive menu that features vegan dishes from pasts to burgers to fried rice to noodles to chinese stir fry dishes. There is something here for everyone, catering to all differing tastes!
Super love the lovely ambience at the i12 Katong outlet too! (They also have another outlet at Thomson Plaza.)

We are back at @yucuncurryfishhead ! Yu Cun Curry Fish Head is voted the BEST curry fish head in Singapore, and we agree!
Very meaty and fresh fish head that is drenched in flavourful rich and thick curry sauce! So good that I ate up my whole bowl of rice with the delicious curry sauce!
We also tried their other tzechar dishes:
-Marmite Chicken
-Beancurd with minced meat and vegetables
-Spinach
Pro tip: Join their Rewards Program (free membership) and you will get to enjoy a glass of homemade drink FREE!
Did you know that He Ping Claypot Rice serves more than just claypot rice?
Opened since 1980, He Ping Claypot Rice serves traditional charcoal claypot rice (chicken / beef / pork options available) as well as claypot frog legs and also a variety of tzechar dishes!
Featured here are the following items:
-Claypot Chicken Rice (Medium size): Their claypot chicken rice is super special as it comes with salted egg yolk, which most other places dont have! Authentic charcoal is used to to cook the claypot rice, so waiting time is minimum 20 mins! You can also call them up in advance to pre-order and reserve.
-Claypot Kung Po Frog Legs: Spicy and delicious! Tender frog legs! There is also non-spicy option of spring onion and ginger available
-Signature Fried Chicken with Onion: This is a MUST order! Super unique dish that is only found here! The crispy fried chicken is served with fried onion slices with a sweet spicy chilli sauce. The crispy onion slices were sooo good and addictive, it had us munching on it non-stop!
-Signature Deep Fried Seafood Beancurd: This is another MUST order! The beancurd is made from scratch! Crispy on the outside, and soft and full of flavours on the inside! This is served with their special chilli sauce dip too! -Stir Fried Green Dragon
This is a great place to bring your family out for a delicious meal here! Check them out now!
Finally tried the tarts from @wunderfolks !
Got the 4 tart box! ($32 for four 8cm tarts)
You can choose the desired flavours of your tart, and I picked the following:
- Fruitilicious Mixed Fruit Tart: Filled with madagascan vanilla custard & topped off with grape, strawberry, blueberry and peach.
- Mango Passionfruit Tart: Creamy passionfruit curd topped with mango, pineapple, passionfruit cremeux cubes.
-Lemony Meringue Tart: Pate sablee crust, lemon curd and finished with torched meringue.
- LycheeTart: Lychee rose mousse, finished with a tangy and luscious lychee raspberry whipped ganache.
My favourite was the fruitilicious mixed fruit tart!
Back at Keong Saik Bakery! This time at the Luzerne outlet! Have been wanting to visit this Luzerne outlet for its more spacious and bright airy environment!
Ordered the following food items:
-Chicken Katsu Burger
-Ebi Katsu Sando
-Hot Matcha Latte
We had 1 for 1 mains with burpple beyond, so our bill was $25+ for 2 pax! Otherwise, I do think their original pricing for the burger and sandwiches are kinda ex!
They are right opposite Syip cafe at Luzerne (another cafe on my to-visit list)! Saw a few groups hoping in between the two cafes, depending on which cafe had available seats!
We have walked past Moonchild many times while at Jalan Besar area! Finally visited this cafe for our Vday celebration!
Here is what we ordered:
-Scallop Rose Mafaldine ($23.90++): This was good!! Seared scallops with gochugaru pink sauce! Loved the unique mafaldine pasta too!
-Stock Pot Chicken & Gruyere ($21.50++): Decided to order this as we had something similar as this at at Cafe Neptune and we absolutely loved it! But hmm, we cant' say the same for the dish here. While the chicken, mushrooms and herb potatoes were all good. We found the ciabatta bread given to be bitter in taste? We enquired the first time and we were told the herb sauce might make it bitter. So we decided to try it without dipping it in the herb sauce.. But it was still bitter.. After we gave the feedback, we were given another new plate of ciabatta bread... and it ended up still tasting slightly bitter to us (but not as bitter as the first plate we were served with). So this whole ciabatta experience affected our enjoyment of this dish!
-Hot Matcha Latte ($8++): Decided to get a hot drink as yes I am still down with post-covid cough after 3 freaking months! Lol when the cuppa of matcha latte was served, my jaw dropped haha. It is my first ever cup of matcha latte where the matcha powder is not whisked properly such that it still clumps together..
Food aside, I liked the ambience of the place though! Check out their toilet for their very interesting water tap.
No reservations allowed here, so you can only walk in!
My umpteenth visit to Fong Sheng Hao!
Came here for a sumptuous breakfast to reward ourselves since it is the new year!
-Taiwan Special Pork Patty ($6.90)
-Pork Egg Cheese ($6.90)
-Hot Milk Tea ($3 for L size)
-Iced Cane Flavored Black Tea ($3.40)
Out of all the food I have tried here so far, I prefer their toasts and Iced Cane Flavored Black Tea! Love the sweet and soft milk loaf bread!
Dessert time at Ji De Chi!
Matcha Snowy Ice ($7.60)! Comes with mini matcha mochi balls, red bean and nata de coco!
My umpteenth time visiting Fong Sheng Hao, but the first time trying their other dishes besides their signature toasts!
-Taiwan Braised Pork Rice: The braised pork was too fatty for me! I prefer the leaner cut kind of braised pork!
-Pork Floss with Egg Pancake: This pancake was kinda dry, even when I have added the pancake sauce myself. I still prefer shilin's one!
-Signature Black Tea: My favourite drink here, not too sweet!
-Soya Bean Drink: The sweetness level of this soya bean drink cant be adjusted, so it was kinda overly sweet for me! (When I am used to taking low sugar or no sugar soya bean drinks from Mr Bean!)
One of the popular char kway teow stall at Old Airport road is Lao Fu Zi Fried Kway Teow!
The wait is around 15-25mins! Got the $8 portion this time round and it had prawns as well!
Added a little chilli this time round and I felt it was too mild, can go for more chilli the next time!
But during this visit, there were a few noodle bits that were charred and hard..

Was craving for a bowl of Teochew meepok bakchor mee!
Got it satisfied at Geylang East Centre Market!
Stall has quite a long queue at all times of the day breakfast and lunch!
Are you a mee pok or mee kia person? It is MEE POK for me!
And always with special request of no pork liver!
