Sweet Tooth 🍮

Got this popular item from the bakery again for breakfast because I love matcha and it’s good stuff.

Buns are soft and fluffy with a matcha crumble layer and generously dusted with matcha powder. When you take a bite, the sweet matcha cream will ooze out. Yum.

Got this aesthetic cake for my brother’s birthday 🎂

The cake itself is rich with a nutty pistachio flavour and the texture is dense yet moist. However, the cream is a tad salty.

If you like cakes that are rich and dense, Chalk Farm’s cakes will probably be to your liking.

Decent matcha shaved ice that pairs well with the red bean and mochi toppings at the side. The sweetness is just nice and there is a slight bitterness which gives it the character of Japanese green tea.

Matchaholics might want their matcha to be more intense but overall this matcha dessert is not bad. Worth a try after a meal.

The contrast in layers was nice and the texture was soft and bouncy. It’s not too sweet, and the floral and coconut flavours sing in harmony and hit all the right notes. I wished the portion was bigger though.

A wonderful rendition of the classic Chinese dessert.

Birds Of Paradise is one of my favourite places to get good ice cream that is not too sweet. This botanically inspired gelato boutique offers interesting flavours that take cues from nature, and will satisfy your curious palate. The thyme-flavoured cone is a must if you do not mind herbs, if not, there is always the option of cups.

$4.70 for a single scoop. $7.70 for a double scoop. $1 for thyme cone.

I always go for the pistachio flavour for its irresistible subtle nutty fragrance.
